"Annie... please," "No Rory." "Annie... It's boring here. Plus, he might be useful in Capture-The-Flag," she whined. Annabeth sighed, grumbling. However, she couldn't say no to those pleading sky-blue eyes. She stared at her friend for a couple of more minutes before rolling her eyes.
"Fine. But you owe me one," she relented.
Aurora perked up immediately, grinning like a Cheshire cat.
"Yes! I'll give you half of my chocolates!" she promised, racing down the grassy field and towards freedom.
Aurora concentrated for a couple of minutes as she ran, trying to pinpoint Chiron and Percy's location. It was a handy trick which she used when she wanted to locate someone, mostly people she knew. Percy however was easy for her to sense as he was the only one whose feelings were all over the place. Aurora couldn't help but feel sympathetic towards the boy who was obviously thrown into a world he didn't believe in, in the worst circumstances possible. Most demigods often ran away and made their way to Camp sometimes on their own or with satyrs. Some were escorted by their mortal or in rarer cases by their immortal parents.
He was escorted by his mother who was killed by an ancient Greek monster which was killed by Theseus centuries ago. Then Percy killed the monster himself and passed out. Then he woke up in an infirmary and was informed that his life was a lie, his mother was dead, his best friend was half-goat and gods existed. Very comforting.
The poor boy was so confused and messed up that his feelings were like ants running all over the place. She ran towards the woods, knowing that Chiron would probably be showing him the woods.
"Stocked with what? Percy asked. "Armed with what?"
"Monsters. Ancient Greek monsters with horns and claws and devil eyes. You wouldn't exactly want to go in there unarmed," Aurora butted in.
Percy whirled around, startled on hearing a new voice. Chiron on the other hand didn't even flinch.
"Hello Aurora. Did you set up his bunk?" Chiron asked her. Aurora grinned at him. "Annie's doing. I'm here for moral support."
Chiron sighed, turning his attention back to Percy.
"Do you have your own sword and shield?"
"My own-?"
The boy looked at Chiron with his sea green eyes wide open. Aurora couldn't help but notice that they looked quite familiar.
"No," Chiron said. "I don't suppose you do. I think a size five will do. I'll visit the armory later."
Aurora huffed a little, Percy glancing at her a little confused. She didn't know why Chiron liked to be so mysterious instead of telling things straight to the point. It was something that she found quite irksome.
They passed the archery range, the canoeing lake, the stables (which Chiron didn't like very much, and Aurora often teased him about it), the javelin range, the sing-along amphitheater, and the arena where Chiron said to Percy, they held sword and spear fights.
"Sword and spear fights?" Percy asked.
"Cabin challenges and all that," Chiron explained which Aurora knew would only confuse Percy more. He would probably wondering which Camp on earth held sword and sear fights. "Not lethal. Usually. Oh, yes, and there's the mess hall," said Chiron pointing to the outdoor pavilion.
"What do you do when it rains?" Percy asked.
Chiron looked at him as if he'd gone a little weird. "We still have to eat, don't we?"
Aurora mentally facepalmed.
"The Camp's magical borders keeps any sudden changes in weather out. So, there are no sudden showers of rain or snow here. Though Mr. D does allow it to snow a bit here during winter," Aurora explained.
