Chapter 1:

Elizabeths pov:

7/29/85 at 7:00am

I wake up on the sofa feeling lightheaded and dizzy with a massive headache .I look to my side to see 5 empty bottles of beer then i realised i must have drank them all god i need help. I go to check to see if anyone else is home, i sneak into Eddies room the door creaking i see him laying in bed sprawled all over the place, great he didn't care to wake me up then. I check to see if Wayne was here yet ,sometimes he didn't come back until morning because he worked two jobs, it was alright but i did miss him luckily for me he wasn't here so i tidied up my mess and went into my room and got ready for my interview at Scoops Ahoy. I hadn't told anyone yet so a couple minutes before i was going i heard Eddie was up he also sounded pretty hung over so i shouted to him.
"EDDIIIEEEE!"
"WHAT LIZ?"he screamed back at me
"GET YOUR ASS HERE RIGHT NOW!"I said so he would be quick and not take his time cause I didn't have much time on my hands I was supposed to be leaving like now.

i could hear him running down the corridor now though with his heavy footsteps.
"What" he said to me trying to catch his breath

"I managed to get a job interview yesterday at the mall so when Wayne comes back tell him where i am."I said casually like it was no big thing

"Ok... WAIT YOU GOT A JOB INTERVIEW!!" he screamed I couldn't tell whether he was angry or happy

"yes and?" I said trying to play it off cool

"I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!"he screamed he does scream alot I've noticed
He said that then gave me a pat on the back and told me how good i was. I told him i had to go so then i hopped on my bike a agin and was off to StarCourt Mall again. 

When i got there the manager (Michelle) had told me that two other people have had interviews as well this week so I wouldn't be alone during the job .Great it's probably going to be some idiot I thought to myself. 

(Time skip to after the interview).

Michelle had just come out of the back room to tell me I had got the job!!! I was so happy ,I was never able to land a job anywhere else.So i decided to celebrate with some ice cream Michelle gave it to me for free saying a well done it was just plain vanilla but i was still really grateful she told me i would start on Monday so i had the whole weekend to think about who these other two people would be.

I was walking back to the bike stand when i caught a glance of Jason Carver in the corner of my eye he was a popular kid in my year i had talked to him before but he just kept making fun of how i looked and kept calling me a 'fag'

He came up to me with his group of minions behind him and asked me,

Jason: "What are you doing here, fag" to which his minions laughed and giggled at the word but to me it sent shivers down my spine i don't know what i am 

"none of your business"I muttered under my breath.
"Well it is now that i asked"He replied smugly 

"can you just leave me alone ?" I asked thinking if I was polite he would let me leave

"why should i? i should be able to come to the mall without seeing any 'fags' around wouldn't you agree?" he said smugly

"Just leave me alone Jason" I told him in an unbothered voice

Jasons minions sort of "OOOOOOO"ed at that and then he stepped closer to my face.
"No i don't think i should have to put up with seeing people like you everywhere i go."

and with that i punched him right in the nose his minions had started trying to get him to fight back to which he did. He punched me right in my eye causing my vision to go black then continued to kick me in the stomach until eventually everything turned black.

Eddies POV:

I go to the mall to find liz cause she's been gone for around 2 hours and i was starting to get worried when i get there i look for her before finding her body just lying there on the cold hard ground her stomach only raising slightly. I rush over to her as fast as i could possibly go she was knocked out cold i didn't know what to do with her so i took her straight to the hospital.

Liz's POV:

I wake up in the hospital slowly opening my eyes to see Eddie sat in a chair to my right.
"Holy shit Liz are you okay?"he said
"nope i don't think so"i said stating the obvious
"Who did this to you?"I couldn't tell him because he'd want to go find Jason and fight him himself but I couldn't risk him getting hurt

" Doesn't matter..."I replied trying to drop the subject but Eddie immediately knew who it was and knew it was his fault but I knew he would think like that so I didn't want to tell him but unfortunately I can't control what he already knows.

With tears streaming down my face I try to scream for Eddie to sit back down in the chair so I could explain but he had already gone to go find Jason Carver.

he obviously didn't listen but I couldn't fight it because the doctor had walked in.

"How are you feeling Elizabeth?"the doctor asked

" Fine thanks when can i leave"i said annoyed and bored

"soon, I can get your discharge papers if you would like?"
"yes please"i replied sounding a lot happier than I was before

After that I got the papers signed them and got the hell out of there and walked home limping. It turns out Jason isn't actually as strong as he looks, he did still damage but it was nothing I couldn't get through. I made my way home to find Eddie on the couch staring into space .

"Eddie hello?"I waved a hand in front of his fave to try and get his attention which worked making him jump.

"h-how did this happen to you?"he asked me nervouly to be honest I don't really know why either they must have just been bored.

" i don't know i suppose it was just wrong place wrong time."I told him trying to get him to stop worrying.

"it shouldn't be like this we should be able to live without being scared to get beat up by people like Jason in public." he said angrily

" I know Eddie but i'm feeling much better know so i'm just going to go to sleep you have a good night Ed" I wanted nothing more than to drop the subject so I just went.

"night Lizzie"he said extremely quietly but I still heard it. It made me smile to know he still said goodnight to me.

A/n

I'm re writing this book so it's probably going to be different but majority will be the same but it will just make much more sense than it did.
