Link crawled out of the second story window into a pile of bags and rugs sitting perfectly against the wall. He rubbed his elbow and looked at the small scrape that marked his skin. A very faint appearance of blood seeped from the cut, small dots throughout the scrape, but nothing too severe. He tumbled off from the bags and the rug he'd fallen onto and onto the dusty floor. Standing up, he dusted off the sand from his serwal and knees before dashing away from the small palace.
He ran past the training guards, where a captain raised a brow at the small ball of blue fabric and blond hair dashing around. Not a Gerudo child, the captain knew. She made a mental note to investigate this child at a later time as she had multiple new soldiers to continue training.
Link slowed down to catch his breath, looking around to see if he recognised where he was going. "This is the market..." He mumbled under his breath. Meat... Plants... melons... ooh shiny . His attention peaked when he saw a small glimmer of metal attached to the tips of small sticks.
"Vasaaq vehvi, I would not touch those if I were you." Link gulped at the voice, lifting his head to look at the older Gerudo woman. "Arrows are not for little Vai like yourself." She sat up and motioned him closer. "Curious one, aren't you?" He sat next to her as she examined his face, head and hair. "Vehvi, where is your mother?" She moved onto his neck and arms, where she stopped and took a closer look at the scrape.
"I don't know." He said, wincing at the stinging coming from his elbow.
"Vehvi, wait here." The old woman stood up slowly and approached a child close to his age and whispered in her ear, too far from Link's earshot. The child ran into their home and returned in a few minutes with a small container and a bandage. "How did you injure yourself? The sand is too soft for this." She said, gently pouring the bottle of stinging solution onto the cut. "Breathe." Link almost screamed at the liquid touching his skin but bit his tongue. "Calm yourself vehvi, its done." She patted the cut dry and applied an ointment and a bandage to his arm. She proceeded to continue examining his other arm, and following his knees and legs, where they were a bit red, but found no scrapes.
"What's that one for?" He pointed to the sticks on the table. He reached to touch the yellow one, only to wince and pull his finger back after receiving a shock. The Gerudo woman clicked her tongue and took his finger, looking it over.
The old woman lifted him to sit in front of her as she pointed to the wares. "These are arrows, they're not toys for little vai." she pointed. Seeing as he was still curious as to the other ones, she pointed to each. "This one makes an explosion-"
"Like a bomb?"
"Yes, like a bomb. This one is cold, this one makes fire, and these ones are normal ones. You can touch this one." She picked one up and put it in his hands gently. Link twirled the arrow in his hands for a few moments, looking at the flight, the head and the stick.
"My daddy makes them fly far." He started saying, making flying motions with the arrow. "He's a soldier for the King."
"A respectable career, he is lucky to have a vehvi like yourself." The older woman told him, taking the arrow from his hands and placing it back with the small bundle.
