Shawn's P.O.V.
I woke up early just to make Barbara breakfast before her class. Since she wasn't a big coffee person, I made her tea with honey, along with pancakes and eggs. She walked in, she looked sleepy still. Her hair in a messy bun, her blue eyes still look tired. She kissed my cheek, saying good morning.
"Shawn you didn't have to." She began.
"Happy birthday!" I hugged her, she nuzzled her face into my chest. I told her that her breakfast was on the table. She left the kitchen, I joined her. She ate quickly after realizing what time it was. She mumbled something about being behind. She rushed to the bathroom, then comes out fully dress and ready to go. She hugs me once more before heading out,
"I love you!" She then left.
I cleaned up my mess from this morning then sat on the couch and scrolled through twitter. I tweeted something about Barbara's birthday and fans went crazy. Comments that caught my eyes were one that were general nice. I grabbed my guitar and began strumming a few chords, humming the words of one of my new songs.
After an hour Barbara messaged me,
"Hey I have one more classes, I'm going to get lunch afterwards, what do you want?"
"Ummm.. you choose it is your birthday!"
"Shawn why do you have to be difficult." I knew she was joking.
"Because I like being difficult!" I put a bunch of emoticons at the end of it.
"Fine." Was all she texted back. I placed my phone down beside me and continued to play. I notice Barbara laptop was still on from last night, so I got on it. The first thing that pops up is a website for fiberglass cellos. It makes me laugh, because she's been obsessing over this for months. Telling me that she could use Windex to clean it, she's such a nerd.
I noticed that she left her twitter up, I posted something about me being the best boyfriend in the universe. At first her followers were like 'awe' then they realize it was from me.
When Barbara came home, she brought up lunch then rush back out to the car. She quickly returned with a box the size of her. I love her but she's quite a bit shorter than I am. She grabs her pocket knife from a drawer in the kitchen, soon the box was open inside was a metallic blue hard case, once she opened that up there was a black fiberglass cello.
"Barbara?"I asked.
"Yes?" She mimics me.
"The food is on the counter." She set the case up and walked over grabbing the McDonald's from off the counter. "Here ya go!" She smiled, but that quickly faded.
"What's wrong, babe?" I asked.
"Oh umm... nothing." She lied, she looked down and ate a Mcnugget.
"No, I can tell something is bothering you. So what's going on?" She leaned up against me, sighing.
"My great grandmother passed away..." Her voice suddenly became weak. "She's gone, Shawn..." A tear escaped from the corner of her eye. I remember her telling me when her great grandfather died about a month ago, she wanted to lock out everyone. She stopped talking to me, I was scared she would never talk to me again. I can tell it's killing her on the inside. Barbara has always wanted me to meet them.
"I'm sorry, I know you miss them." I put my food down and wrapped my arms around her. She quietly sobbed, I really wanted to start crying. I needed to calm her down, I released her, to quickly grab my guitar.
I then sung to her my song 'A Little Too Much'. At the end she smiled at me and said,
"You always know how to cheer me up!" We spent the rest of the night talking and singing. She even taught me how to play the cello, and I began teaching her guitar. All I know is I think I found the one, the one girl who will make my life complete.
