Abby's P.O.V.
I am freaking out, today was the day I get to meet Dillon's family, well just his parents. I'm so scared, what if they don't like me, what if they don't agree with our relationship? What if I'm not good enough for them? I looked in my bag for something nice to wear, because I honestly don't think sweatpants would go over well. So my only options are a dress or jeans.... jeans are a soccer players worst nightmare, they are sooo uncomfortable and itchy. Thankfully I found a skater skirt that was pretty decent, and it looked nice on me. I wore a black skater skirt, a decent looking t-shirt and my favorite pair of Vanz. As I was doing my hair, Dillon walked up and wraps his arms around my waist.
"Well someone looks beautiful!" He smiled, after he kissed my cheek.
"Thank you. But it's honestly just something I threw together." I put my curling iron down and turned around to face him.
"What's wrong, beautiful?" He moved a strand of hair out of my face.
"I'm just nervous, that's all." I turned around once again to make sure I looked okay.
"Don't worry they will love you!" He looked down at his watch, noticing the time, we gotta get going.
We drove to this little café, it was beautiful and all the pastry and desserts looked amazing. Dillon saw his parents, and he sat down at the table with them.
"Mom, Dad, this is the girl I was telling you about. This is my girlfriend, Abby!"
"Hello Abby, we are Dillon's parents." His mom said, smiling.
"We order the sampler for the 4 of us!" His father took our menus. Soon the waiter walks out with the first part of the sampler, which looked gorgeous.
"So Abby, where do you attend College?" His father asked.
"Michigan State University." I said, Dillons hand tighten, which worried me. But all his father said was 'oh'. I remember Dillon telling me that his parents aren't big fans of MSU. Dillon quickly changed the subject. They asked me a ton of questions dealing with college, my family, and some about myself.
They asked me how I dealt with all of Dillons fans. To be honest I didn't mind them, they are a huge part of his life, he would of never gotten this far without them. Every once in a while, I'll see a hate comment and it will bother me. But for the majority I do love seeing how happy he makes them. We finally reached our final course and they were telling me about themselves, which was nice. At the end they thanked us for the company, and told me that they really enjoyed my presence.
"See, I told you that they would like you!" Dillon playfully punched my arm.
"Haha whatever..." He places his arm around me shoulder, and took a final sip of his water before we left.
We walked to the park, hand in hand. I notice a cute older couple commented on us,
"Look Alfred, they remind me of us!" The older woman smiled as her husband waved at us. I couldn't help but smile at their cuteness.
"That would be us someday.." Dillon whispers in my ear, I nodded in agreement. We then spent the majority of the afternoon walking around the park admiring the sights of couples walking by with their dogs, and seeing little children messing around at the playground.
I think Dillon wants a dog, because every time we would pass one, he would nudge me, and point at it. We've talked about getting one, but it would have to be later on down the road because of our busy schedule. Between me still in college, living in a dorm that does not allow pets, and with Dillon always wanting to go off and travel and be on tour, there wouldn't be time to take care of the puppy.
Then a little girl bumped into Dillons leg, she then fell over.
"Oh." I turn my attention to the cute blonde headed girl who is now on the ground.
"I'm so sorry." Dillon helped her stand up, her mom soon rushed over.
"I'm sorry, Amelia always seems to wander off when I'm looking after her brother." Her mother explains, but we told her she was fine. We smiled and waved as Amelia and her mom walked back over to their pinic table.
We then decided we should go back to the hotel room and order room service for dinner. Our night was filled with movies, pizza, and cuddling, until we fell asleep.
