"Oh. My. God."

With mouth wide open, Ellis looked around the living room she and her two friends just walked into. She gasped at the ocean view the big windows allowed them to see as she dropped her bags in the middle of the room.

"I didn't know we brought Janice with us on vacation," Madelyn chuckled to Isla, who started laughing at her joke. Madelyn placed her suitcase in the hallway of their Airbnb house and followed her friend into the living room, wanting to see what the fuss was all about. Well, Ellis had every reason to scream those words through the entire apartment.

The space was not much bigger than their own apartment in London, but it was bright. The light floor and white walls made the room seem bigger than it was. In the center was a light gray sofa facing the large windows and French doors. Against the walls were various pieces of furniture to decorate the room, and in the corner of the room was a modern white kitchen with marble countertops. Madelyn could see through the open doors that the room next door was the dining room, even though they probably wouldn't use it often for the next two weeks.

Looking through the French doors, you could see the deck that was attached to the house. On the deck were several seating areas that they were sure to enjoy in the evenings, and in the middle was a large dining table. Walking off the deck you came across a pool large enough for the three girls to enjoy for the next two weeks. Back in the house, you had the dining room on the right. To the right were the bedrooms and bathroom.

"This place is amazing! Where did you find it?" Isla looked over at her friend standing on the other side of the living room.

"Did some good research on Airbnb," Madelyn answered.

After looking around for a while more, the girls unpacked their bags in their bedrooms. Once they were done with that, they decided to visit the town that was near the house. The town was a little outside of Split, a larger city known for its nightlife. By being slightly outside the city, the girls were not bothered by drunk tourists walking the streets at night but were in Croatian nightlife in no time. It was the perfect location for them. The walk took no more than five minutes. As they walked through the center they looked around admiringly. It was absolutely beautiful. The town may have been somewhat old and rustic, but that certainly didn't make it any less beautiful. The stone streets were narrow and not all the buildings were equally straight. By the time they got to the main shopping street, the paths became a little wider and the streets became busier. As they continued walking they arrived at the promenade of the town where the best restaurants were located. Since it was very hot and the girls were starting to get thirsty, they decided to sit on one of the terraces. When the waiter joined them, all three of them ordered a cocktail -because why not- and waited patiently for their drinks. Fortunately, it wasn't too crowded so they didn't have to wait long for the waiter to get back to their table.

"To the best holiday ever!" Ellis said enthusiastically, raising her glass in the air. The other two friends joined her, saying the same words as her before they all took a sip. Madelyn looked to her right to enjoy the view of the sea when her phone vibrated in her purse. She grabbed it and unlocked the screen to read the incoming message. When she saw Max's name on it, she automatically began to smile.
