Izuku grins as he puts the finishing touches on his latest project, an artificial mini-volcano that erupts the same way that natural ones do and spews actual lava. He then places a glass, dome-shaped cover over it and grabs the remote.
"Alright, time to see if you work." He says gleefully as he presses the start button.
The volcano erupts, holes being blown in the sides by the lava, toxic gases spewing from the volcano's mouth, lava flowing down the sides. Izuku watches all of this with a gleeful expression on his face. After a few minutes, the eruption dies down, and the cleaning process begins. The toxic gases are sucked out by a vacuum and the lava is doused in liquid nitrogen and turns into obsidian. Izuku then removes the cover and removes the obsidian manually before setting it aside for use in later experiments.
Izuku sighs as he gazes at the damage done by the eruption. "I'll repair you later. I'm just glad that you work." He says as he replaces the cover and places the volcano in storage.
After cleaning up the lab and putting everything away, Izuku gets changed into his normal clothes and heads to the hospital. Izuku enters the room where Inko is, and where she has been ever getting injured in a villain attack 5 years ago and rendered comatose.
"Hello, Mom." Izuku says as he sits down. "I know that I haven't been here for a while, and I'm sorry about that, but I've been busy. So, I got fired from the factory a few days ago. Apparently demand for their products is plummeting so they had to 'downsize' in order to save on costs, and I was one of the unlucky few that they chose to fire." He pauses for a second to gather his thoughts. "Anyways, no need to worry, I've got a better job now. I got picked up as a lab assistant by a kind scientist, so I'm fine even after the downsizing." Izuku continues, a clearly fake smile on his face. "Sorry Mom, I know that I just got here, but visiting hours are almost over, so I've gotta go. I'll try to visit more, though." He finishes as he gently pats Inko's arm before he stands up to leave.
Suddenly, just as he gets to the door, a massive explosion rocks the building and causing the roof and floor to collapse, sending Izuku and Inko into a hurtling towards the ground floor, straight from Inko's room on the sixth floor.
Izuku's eyes widen as he crashes into the ground, his legs being broken from the fall preventing from moving, even as Inko slams into the ground a scant few feet in front of him, and is immediately crushed by a piece of rubble.
Izuku stares at the rubble for a few seconds, before finally realizing what just happened and unleashing a massive yell, as, upon his mother's death, Izuku's mind shatters, and the sanity that he had barely managed to keep a hold of for the past 5 years for his mother's sake finally slips from his grasp.
