Prologue Part 1: Life in America!
A young girl born to the (l/n)s was doomed to a chaotic upbringing, both good and bad, from family relations to lots of connections to big name heroes. The first big event happened when she was 4 and her parents separated because of her quirk, she didn't have either of theirs. She had her grandmother's quirk, from her dad's side. Her mother was glad it was a quirk that couldn't work well for hero work because of how dangerous and destructive it was, while the father wanted her to continue the hero legacy.
First let's get to know the tragedy that is (f/n) (l/n), the father of this young girl. He was a big support hero with his quirk called medical scan, he could scan a person and immediately be given the state of their condition down to treatments. This required him to have a medical license and a hero license. When the young girl was 7, he lost both licenses from an incident and was forced to retire, his custody over his daughter was also taken away. At least one child in his family takes on the hero path, her being his only child he hoped she would be able to follow in his steps. Maybe if her quirk was trained well enough, but it still was too risky, even to train it.
He had helped All Might and David Shield quite a few times, along with introducing All Might and Sir Nighteye! (f/n) was a big deal in America because of his quirk and extremely friendly attitude. He had made a lot of friends with fellow pro heroes. Which led young (y/n) to grow up surrounded by pro heroes, or those connected to them. Many people would think this would be amazing or the best thing to ever happen as a young kid. Not (y/n), she hated heroes, mostly thanks to her mother and father. Her father was a pro hero, he was supposed to be an amazing person, but he would come home drunk and completely forget he had a daughter. Her mother would bad mouth heroes any chance she got and constantly talk about how it's only a show for the media. Which didn't help with the fact the only time she saw heroes doing their job was when a camera or fans were around and they made it as flashy as possible. Why wouldn't she believe her mother at that point. Children are impressionable, and the reality of life doesn't always help.
Now for Hana (l/n), a cruel and bitter woman. She was raised by her shitty father and became the mother version of him. One thing went wrong or you acted like a child and you were punished. Punishments could range from physical things to just verbal abuse. (y/n) stayed reserved and quiet as to not piss off her ticking time bomb of a mother. Perfection was the expectation, anything less and you were better off on the streets.
(y/n) learned a lot from growing in this environment. Acting is your best friend, don't go beyond to please people because it'll never be enough, people will judge you on looks and quirk the most. While kids played heroes or gushed over quirks, she sat alone, most kids deemed her unapproachable because her eyes looked like a glare when she wasn't smiling. She liked it though because it meant she didn't have to fake liking heroes, she didn't have to smile to make them comfortable and it meant she wouldn't get in trouble.
Once she turned 13, she was told news by her mother. They were moving back to Japan. The country her mom immigrated from so many years ago.
"Great, just great..."

I have a friend working on this book with me, she rereads most of my writings so it comes out all right and edits it too. I also made sure this first part was short just to get the important parts out of the way. I didn't want reader's past to be too detailed just yet, plus more important parts of her past will come up soon. Also this is just what reader knows about her past since she can't really remember lots of it!
Also I know the quirk sounds good for hero work but its hard to control the specifics of it, using it on an area is easier than focusing it on a person or object. Also if she's not careful enough with the amount of pressure it could, 1 harm someone badly/kill them or 2 do more damage to the area and have no effect on the target. She has decent control but not enough to guarantee not causing harm to someone, its a 50/50 chance unless she has utter focus (which is hard for her because she gets distracted well). Also with how she used it once, her parents were convinced it was too much of a hazard ~ love from the author
