This was your first Halloween. Well first time celebrating it. You knew of it and its traditions, but like all holidays it was seen as a waste of time by your previous family. This year your new family, which consisted of your Dad, Mezo, Kayama and Yamada, were all going to match costumes for your first Halloween. The theme was sanrio and basically you all wore onesies of a certain character that matched yourself. You and Kayama matched as My Melody and Kuromi. Kayama insists you, her cute niece, match her. Dad wore a Chococat because cat... there's no explanation really needed. Yamada went with PomPomPurin. Mezo went as Cinnamoroll because you insisted that he should. To you, Mezo was like a giant puppy. He was too good for this world.
Halloween had miraculously fell on a Friday this year. Unfortunately, you and Mezo still had school, but the day flew by fast. Both of you went to your home and got changed from your school clothes to your costumes. The plans for the day were to make a halloween themed dinner with a nice array of desserts. Then with the desserts, some drinks and extra snacks you'd all get comfy for a movie marathon. The movies weren't horror because in Dad's words he didn't want to deal with Yamada accidentally destroying the place in fear. He trusted you and Mezo to make a nice list of movies. The list had mostly American movies that you knew of and a few Japanese choices by Mezo; some of your picks were 'It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown' , 'Nightmare before Christmas' , 'Hocus pocus' , 'Corpse bride' , 'Frankenweenie' , etc. As for trick or treaters a bowl was left outside with assorted candy.
After getting into your costumes you and Mezo put on aprons and started working on dinner. Dad, Kayama and Yamada were going to arrive in an hour so you both agreed to make dinner and start the desserts since they had to do work at UA. The halloween themed dinner was mostly just fall themed foods or things of halloween colors. You both managed to find pumpkin themed steamed buns, the bread had been shaped and colored like pumpkins. You also made roasted potatoes along with assorted vegetables. Yellow rice was also served along with some tamagoyaki. By the time you finished dinner the three teachers had arrived. They all went to get changed into their costumes and then you all sat to enjoy the feast.
You knew that people typically went trick or treating, but you preferred the yummy food and time with your family. For dessert you all made pumpkin pie, cookies decorated in halloween themed icing and sprinkles and lastly cookies with a peach like jelly in the center. Mezo suggested trying to make cookies with some incorporation of peaches, which you wholeheartedly agreed to because you love peaches. After all the dessert were done you all started setting up the lounge. Dad grabbed a kotatsu he had lying around and put in on the carpet in the center of the lounge area. Kayama and Yamada grabbed blankets and pillows. You and Mezo set up the desserts, snacks and drinks on the kotatsu. Dad helped you both out by grabbing utensils, plates, serviettes* and cups. After that was settled Dad set up the first movie as everyone got comfortable. You sat between Dad and Mezo in front of the couches by the kotatsu, directly across from the TV. Yamada and Kayama each took a side of the kotatsu.
It all felt nice, the treats were all absolutely delicious. Eventually it was late and quiet a few movies had been played. You find yourself tiredly curled into your Dad's side as his arm wrapped around you holding you close. You woke up the next morning in your bed with Mezo in his usual futon on the floor. He was on his phone, just relaxing. Noticing you awake, he started to converse with you. Both of you had a nice chat after waking up.
One thing you made sure to note was that you loved spending any holiday with your new family. <3

I thought it would be cute to do more of a halloween themed movie night instead of typical trick or treating. Also like 3/5 of the group are technically introverts... It just makes more sense.
Also it feels great to be back! I've been fairly busy with some projects, but I'm back to uploading and writing!
