The Desert

 I will be 100% honest- I rushed into getting Tentomon back, and I got a bit greedy when it came to Tentomon, sooo.. Garurumon didn't really get his time to shine.. Bad writing on my end, sorry about that!

I woke up to Black shaking me. "ACE ACE ACE!! GET UP!"

I jumped up, terrified. "What happened?!" I screeched. Images of Devimon sinking his claws into Kabuterimon and killing him flashed behind my eyes. "Is- is it Devimon?!"

Black shook me. "No! The digitama! It's hatching!"

I spun around. Everyone was surrounding it, looking excitedly at me. I rushed over to it, and picked it up and held it in my arms. I watched as it started cracking, and thrashing. I almost dropped it once, but I held onto it tightly.

A small, green Digimon popped out of it, blinking up at me. It looked like a puddle of green slime, with a little yellow pacifier. Small green bubbles floated up and off of the Digimon. "Pabu-bu-bu-bu!" he squeaked.

I felt my eyes tearing up. Pabumon. "Hey there." I whispered. "You're back.."

He blinked again. His eyes sparkled happily, as if saying I missed you.

Pabumon jumped out of the digitama's shell and was on my shoulder. He was smaller than what the digitama had been, so he could sit easily without falling off or crowding my space.

"He's so cute!" Black cooed.

"He really does resemble Tentomon." Gomamon commented sarcastically, earning himself a not-so-amused look from Will.

Everyone, even Via, looked like they thought Pabumon was adorable. "I'm sure he's happy to be back." Biyomon said enthusiastically, smiling happily.

"Alright." Conner said, standing up and clapping his hands together. "We need to start making our way around."

I stood up, listening to Conner. "So what's your big idea, wise guy?" Via asked sarcastically. "Now that Pabumon hatched, we leave?"

Conner glanced at Pabumon. "No, that's not what I meant. I thought about what you said Via, and you're right- It's not safe anywhere." Via looked surprised that Conner had listened to her. "So, going by that logic, we shouldn't go anywhere. We should stay put and waste away here."

Everyone objected immediately. "Conner, are you nuts?" Agumon cried. "We can't stay here!"

"I know I said it's dangerous, but I didn't mean we should stay here!" Via shouted.

"We need to figure out why we're here!" I exclaimed. "The more we know, the better chance we have to stop Devimon!"

"Pabu-bu!"

Black was arguing with Noah, and Will was next to me, terrified. Gomamon glanced at Will, and narrowed his eyes. "Everybody, SHUT UP!"

Everything fell silent, and Gomamon strutted to the center of the group. "You guys shouldn't argue like this."

"It's not MY fault Conner is stupid." Via hissed, glaring at Conner.

"Via, please stop causing issues.." Gabumon pulled Via away from the argument. "The more you argue, the less we get done.."

Black glared at Noah, but kept her mouth shut. "Gomamon, are you seriously the one preaching this to us?" Patamon said skeptically. "You're the one who likes to argue the most."

Will grabbed Gomamon and pulled him back before he could say anything. Jay glanced at Noah, then at Via. "All of you are being highly dramatic." she said calmly, though I could hear the exasperation laced through her voice, like a weird kind of poison.
