me, francesco, and demario stand outside the bar in the dark, cold night.
francesco is poised and ready to pounce on demario.
demario is completely caught off guard by the situation he just walked into.
my heart is galloping from the adrenaline and the alcohol pumping through my system.
demario looks between me and francesco. he slowly begins to piece together what's happening in his drunken state. or at least what he thinks could be happening between the two of us.
"what the hell, man?"
he steps forward, coming between me and francesco, flaring out his chest. now, demario also looks ready for a fight.
"demario, you're drunk. let's go home"
suddenly, francesco's hand lands squarely on demario's jaw.
francesco's expression lights up in the darkness. francesco seems shocked that he punched demario. despite his expression of disbelief. a glint of satisfaction flashes across his emerald-colored eyes.
demario instantly clutches his face in pain, spitting on the ground from the impact.
"what the hell is wrong with you, dude?"
demario lunges toward francesco. i initially pull him back before things got out of hand.
"stop it!"
i shout at the both of them.
"demario"
my voice is demanding and firm.
"we're going now. enough with this"
i don't even give demario a chance to respond and immediately pull him back from the fight.
francesco looks at him with pleasure dancing in his eyes. it looks like someone got a taste of the revenge they've wanted. and from the looks of it, it seemed worth it.
with all my strength, i drag demario away from the bar while francesco taunts his further.
"if you ever want a taste of more, you know who to look for, hombre"
francesco shouts as i set off back to the hotel with demario.
