What would you say
If I told you we were split
By the lightning of time, sent spinning?
If I played you a film
From the back of my mind
Where it was just you and me from the beginning? The sepia steeped,
The audio, staccato,
But the burn marks line up to remind me.
And now you know
Why you've always felt,
Consumed with need to find me.It's in the archive,
In the back in the stacks,
Marginalia in a hymnbook.
It's in every breath
In the whirl of the earth
That was liberated as it shook. And now it seems
A reunification,
The kiss on my lips prognosticates.
The stars returned
To the constellation
Your salutation vaticinates.Come with me.
Write a message in ash.
With seed, the chaos bestrew.
The deeper you go,
The harder I'll fall.
I'll do whatever you want me to do.I'll make you feel
Like you're underwater;
Keep you just beneath the crest.
If you'll take my breath
Like a backdraft,
I'll take you like a test.Hold my hand
Where you want it.
And the rest of me will follow.
Pour me a drink
Of your desire,
And watch me lick my lips and swallow.I've waited too long
To wait any longer
To this prophecy fulfill.
Drowning in the steady build,
Dripping
In the spill.You've bound me
And unwound me,
Now watch the moon upon my face.
Close your eyes
Sleep soundly.
We earned the lightning's grace. What would they say
If we told them
We found our way back home?
And in a million years,
We'll do it again
In the thick of a brand new tome.
