When you say "Don't be sad, be happy" and get off with someone ranting you about their depression which they can't snap out of at once, and when you say "Don't die, just try to keep yourself happy. You've a long life ahead, don't give up yet" to someone who's suicidal and going thru a lot since long-
It's just like telling a fish out of water "Hey don't feel suffocated, don't die. You'll get some water after an year"
Why so dumb?
When you care for someone really, you won't use dialogues of motivation, but acts of love to help them and cheer them up. It's absurd how people don't even usually try to understand or validate someone's rants and act like they know everything about them.
