"Let's just all take a deep breath," I try to calm everyone down

"Let's just all take a deep breath," I try to calm everyone down.

Each member of our team is yelling all over the big table in our office. Chaos is one word to describe it, if I must.

I notice a tremble in Asher's hand. The loud noise is probably triggering some panic attack, and I wish I knew how to silence everyone. But I'm lost without Dominic, searching steadiness but not finding any.

Michael, who's sitting next to me, sighs deeply and locks eyes with me. He notices our slight reluctance to carry on with this and stands up, slapping his hand on the table.

"Silence! We're not here to discuss whoever has the best tactic for this, but you just have to listen to Easton and Asher. Your opinion was not asked."

Silence dawns over the room as they stare at Michael with a mouth wide open. They then continue to slowly adjust in their seats and listen to us.

I glance at Asher, whose breathing is slowly turning into slight panting. My hand rests on his shoulder, trying to give him some support. I know Daisy would know how to do this, but she's not here.

Instead, she's downstairs with the kids. I didn't want her to be a part of our operation. I'm aware this is about her husband, but this is nothing she can help with. I've taught her the basics on how to defend herself with a gun, but if Father is really alive, that won't be enough.

"Dominic is in this house," I point uncle's house on the map, "together with our daughter, Camilla. We suspect it to be our Father and uncle, even if I can't comprehend on how that motherfucker is alive. Father is a genius, so we have to be very careful on how we'll do this."

Dante's hand raises, as if he's in a fucking class. I prefer this, though, rather than him shouting his question and having Asher panicking again. My brother seems better now, even if he's not completely fine.

"What?" I grit out. I just fucking started, how am I ever going to free Dominic when they'll be asking questions until eternity?

"But I thought y'all killed this dude? Me and Val cleaned him up, didn't we?" He looks at Val, who nods in agreement. I pinch the bridge of my nose. "I don't understand either, okay? All I know is that he's alive anyway, and Dominic and Camilla are in his hands, which is not a good thing."

He shrugs and leans back in his chair, watching me. I sigh. "Since Michael is, for once, not working with him," I glance at said Michael, who throws his hands up in the air in desperation, "we have to get to our information by ourselves. I want four men guarding the house today, watching with concentration how many people are in the house and what in the world is happening there. So Arnaud, Bill, Ken and Adam, that's your job for today and tonight."

They're not too happy with the task, but leave with an eye-roll. It's not like they can object to the boss. I turn to Michael and point at him. "You are going to ask our IT-group to find a map of the house and garden. I want to know everything. Then, you'll think of a way to get in there."

He shrugs and nods, standing up and shoving his chair under the table. Then he leaves, sending me the middle finger before disappearing on the stairs. I roll my eyes.

Dante and Val are the only ones left. They're waiting for our orders, but I'm a little lost. We have to wait for the IT-guys and the map, and the routines of Father and uncle. There's not much more we can do.

I look at Asher, who is glancing between me and them. He's beyond uncomfortable from keeping his panic attack hidden for so long. But I know he'll break any second now, so I tell the two employees to assist Michael where needed.

Fortunately they leave us alone, so I kneel next to Asher's chair. His breathing intensifies, because it's only the two of us and he trusts me enough to show himself vulnerable.

"It's just—" he gasps for breath, "It's just that everything is messy without Dominic. Everyone is confused, just like me. I thought it was bad last time, but this is fucking worse."

I nod. I completely agree with him, but don't know what to say. "Should I get Daisy?"

He shakes his head, drawing out a breath. "No. I'm fine. Let's search ways on how to get Dominic and Camilla back."

Shorter chap, sorry.
