This couldn't be happening. I stared at the spot where the TARDIS was once parked. My head felt light-headed, that's all I had of the Doctor and it was gone, he trusted me. He relied on me, I let him down.

Neil was swearing his head off and shouted to the air, "Fuck I'm stuck here?!?"

Neil's voice was practically identical to the Doctor's, so it was odd to hear him swearing.

A man walking his dog turned in the opposite direction quickly when he heard Neil's voice echo down the street. I sat on the doorstep, unable to think, I took a deep breath.

"SHUT UP! SHUT UP!" I snapped.

Neil raised his eyebrow, "What did you say?"
I stared up at him fiercely, "Shut up! This is your fault. For killing the Doctor and-

Wait. How did you get here in the first place?"

Neil was stiff as he averted his gaze away, "That's not important. We need to get the TARDIS back, that's all that matters."

I stared at the TARDIS key in my hand, it began to glow, a beam of light shone in the distance. I grabbed my jacket and locked the house up, I began to walk ahead down the street, not even acknowledging Neil.

As I headed into the city centre, it became difficult to figure out where the source of light was. I assumed it was the location of the TARDIS. How did it get so far across the city so quickly?

I waited at the traffic lights, I could hear a motorbike rearing it's engines. The driver took his helmet off, to reveal it was Neil, "Want a ride?"

I gasped, "Where did you get that bike?"
He shrugged, "I stole it. It's what I do."
An annoyed woman could be heard in the distance, Neil gestured his head, "Getting on?"
I noticed her quickly approaching us with a police officer, "As long as you give it back to the woman later!"
He shrugged, "I'll see."

Neil tossed me a second helmet, "Safety first!"
I just about caught the helmet as I hopped on the motorbike, "Follow that beam of light!"
"What beam?"
"Oh right."
I pulled out a shoelace from my trainer and tied it onto the key and round his neck.

"Now do you see it?"
Neil nodded, "Okay, hold on tight."
The motorbike sped off quickly, catching me off guard, I flung my arms round Neil. It should have felt wrong, having my arms wrapped round the killer of my fiancé... Weirdly it didn't.

"Slow down! That's the third red light you've gone through!" I yelped.
Neil seemed oblivious, "Oh does red mean stop here?"
"YES!!" I shrieked as I squeezed tighter onto him as the bike sharply braked an alleyway. Neil took his helmet off, he cautiously approached the darkened alleyway,"Stay here."

I frowned stepping off the bike, lifting off my helmet, "What? But-"
"Please. I need to check it's safe, I won't do anything."
He handed back the key to me, "See? Can't do anything without a key, can I?"
I nodded, feeling uneasy as I watched him disappear into the shadows.

Neil wandered down the alleyway, to see the TARDIS door unlocked. He walked in to find, long and behold, the Doctor stood before the console, alive and well.

"Ah took long enough! I told you to stay put." The Doctor said in a fake bright tone.
Neil lowered his head, "I know but-"
"Time to take you back home."
"No not yet, she's going to think I've stolen the TARDIS. She won't give up." Neil urged.
The Doctor looked at his console screen, half paying attention, "She will, trust me."
Neil remained still, tightening his fist,"You don't care about her at all."
"I did one time. We make mistakes. You wouldn't know the cost of caring, results in nothing but pain."

Neil felt angry watching the Doctor act so casual, "Just go, I'll get a lift from someone else."
"She's going to hate you."
Neil leaned towards the Timelord, "Well at least I'm not afraid to stay to face the consequence of my actions."
