Revenge is a dish best served cold.

Standing on the platform with her family and a picture of her dead sister behind her, Lyra wanted nothing more than to punch Enobaria's stupid little face.

She stood before the crowd of District 4, reading from her cards, with no sympathy or regret or guilt whatsoever. The only emotion in her eyes was pride. She was proud of her actions, typical career.

Whilst her emotions aren't her fault, they are a result of how she was raised and brought up, Lyra still couldn't help but feel mad. And she was allowed to, she has every right to be mad.

She knew, deep down, that it was all Snow's doing. The districts were all his puppets and he, the puppeteer, was pulling the strings to best suit his needs. That didn't mean Enobaria had to make her sister's death so painfully gruesome though, that was just cruel.

But Lyra had a very strong feeling that Coriolanus Snow would get what's coming for him, eventually he'd go too far. Maybe piss off the wrong person a little too much, maybe he'll mess up and make a mistake that'll cost him big time, maybe there'll be a successful rebellion. Or maybe he'll be assassinated one night.

Whatever the cause, as long as it ended with the man dead, Lyra would feel some sense of closure for all the pain and death.

The next year was hard but they got through it together as a family just as they had when Isabella had died. It did take Lyra a lot of getting used to, especially when she sat at the table to eat and the seat directly across from her was always empty.

Having her best friend, Annie Cresta, by her side every day definitely made a big difference in her accepting that her sister was gone.

The families stress returned for the Hunger Games every year, however, especially as Caspian got older making it more likely for him to be reaped.

Lyra knew it wasn't too likely she'd be reaped herself. As much as the Capitol want Victor's children to become Tributes, they also want them to win and have children of their own to carry on the family line. Imagine a whole family of Victor's, that'd be a dream to the citizens in the Capitol, it would be the best gossip and form of entertainment possible.

However, for that to happen it would be ideal for the child to be at least sixteen, ideally eighteen, to give them as good a fighting chance as possible. And this year, the 65th Hunger Games, Caspian would be sixteen in the Reaping. His chances of being sent to the arena were higher and higher each year.

Amber struggled under the grasp of Enobaria before letting her muscles go limp as she gave up, allowing her life to end as her vulnerable throat is attacked.

Lyra awoke, out of breath from the nightmare, and sighed as she pulled her duvet up over her eyes and turned the other way as the sun began to rise, lighting up her face.
