Lyra had carried Cole home after he'd fallen asleep listening to the waves on one of their beach trips.
They ate the fish casserole her brother had prepared and Lyra played them all a song on the piano afterwards.
She'd been practicing a lot over the past year. She'd wrote a piece of music and decided to play it that night, the night before the Reaping.
She poured her heart and soul into the piece, her fingers dancing over the keys gracefully as she played the notes to perfection, every emotion and thought she'd had over the year created the cacophony of sound she played for her family.
Cole had sat on the bench beside her with his head in her lap as he fell asleep to the beautiful melody.
Her father had kissed them goodnight before heading off to bed, taking a passed out Cole with him.
Lyra dropped herself onto the couch beside her brother, leaning her head on his shoulder as he wrapped one arm around her.
"That was really beautiful, I can't believe you wrote that," he complimented. "She'd be proud of you, you know."
Lyra let a smile fall on her lips, it doesn't hurt as much to talk about her now. The past three years, she'd come to terms with the death of her sister and found some peace knowing she's now safe from the world, the Capitol, and could finally find peace in her afterlife.
"You too." She looked up at her brother, a hint of mischief in her eyes, "I mean, you've made some semi-decent meals."
"Semi-decent? I'll have you know I'm a master chef," Caspian smirked back. "I'm thinking about making it my profession.
"Oh yeah, tell me how that goes. Let's hope you don't make anyone throw up for three days straight," she smirked.
"Okay, that was one time and it was years ago! Besides, I blame mum. She was never the best cooking role model, if you ask me."
It was true, their mother could send people to hospital with her cooking whilst Amber and Caspian's cooking made you feel like you're in heaven.
"I'm gonna call it a night. We're gonna be okay, you know that right?"
"How do you know?" Lyra asks whilst she played with her sleeve nervously.
"Gut feeling, I'm never wrong." Lyra smiled at his words as Caspian kissed her head before going upstairs. "Love you tons."
"Love you too," Lyra says back.
Not long after, Lyra followed up the stairs and into her room. She changed into some shorts and a large top before climbing into bed.
Her night was plagued with different nightmares that evening. Not memories but possible futures.
