Love In The Dark - Re Writing!

No Way

I think at this point when I block out the voices of others it's a coping mechanism. I don't even know what to do so I just stand up and walk to the window and stare out watching the people while the Maester speaks.

"Are you listening to him Rhane?" Alicent asks, turning me by my shoulder.

"I don't know." I speak truthfully.

"You must listen to him, the words he speak are important." She says grabbing my hand and sitting me back down at the table.

"As I was saying, carrying and delivering the babe can be very dangerous but also very joyous." He says.

I'm listening but I'm also thinking about my grandmother. She had so many miscarriages and then she died. And Baela's mother had Vhagar kill her after a tragic birthing experience.

"I'm not ready." I say

"You will be in time. I'll teach you some things." Alicent says.

"Yes because the children you raised have turned into such lovely beings." I say sarcastically.

"Helaena is perfectly wonderful." She says poking my side with a smile.

I laugh, she's right Helaena is like the only close to normal child even though we all believe her to be a dreamer.

Alicent puts her hand on mine. "You can do this Rhane. You have to." She says.

My hands fall onto the front of my corset that cinches my stomach.

"Will I need to stop wearing corsets?" I ask.

"There are actually corsets to form around the bump." The Maester informs.

"Yeah, no I think I'll just not wear a corset until the babe comes." I say.

"We shall leave Maester, give Rhane some rest." Alicent winks at me as she gets up leading the old man out the doors.

"I believe in you." She says to me before leaving the room.

I can't close my eyes, not for one second without thinking of Aemond. He doesn't know. At least I don't think he knows, unless Alicent has told him.

I get up from the bed and walk to his rooms, I knock and wait. I'm standing there for a moment before I knock again, right as my knuckles connect with the hard wood the door flies open.

"What?" He asks aggressively before he realizes it's me.

"Oh Rhane, sorry I thought you were someone else." He says, inviting me in.

I walk in and I start pacing. I don't know why I came here without thinking of what to say and especially how to say it.

"What? What is it?" He asks, noticing my nervousness.

"Are you sick? Is that why the Maester was in your chambers?" He asked me then grabbed my hands stopping me from pacing.

"No, well not necessarily. I don't know how to say this." I start.

I start pacing again.

"Hmm." I hum sitting down on the couch, Aemond follows me and sits on the couch as well.

"No." I say and stand back up from the couch.

"Stop messing around and just tell me, you're killing me with the constant movement." He says standing up.

"I am with child." I state giving him a strange look while awaiting his response.

It takes him a second before he truly processes what I had said.

"Seriously?" He asks, his eyebrows raising and eye widening.

"No, I thought I would come here mid day cause I have nothing else to do and jest with you." I said sarcastically.

"Yes I'm serious you dimwit." I said placing a hand on my hip.

He quickly comes up and hugs me. The hug lasted about five minutes, he pulled away and kissed me.

It wasn't a kiss just because. It was an act of love, he grabs my face with his hands and gives me that god damned smirk.

"I love you." His eye's almost glimmer with truth. He loves me.

"And I know after everything I've done it will take time for you to fully forgive me. But I love you, and I love our child, so I will wait as long as that takes." He says, he kisses my cheek and then hugs me again.

"Thank you." I say, tears brimming my eyes.

"I should probably get some rest." I say, now that it's off of my chest I can finally feel myself getting tired.

"Oh, okay yeah." He says walking over to his doors and putting his hand on the knob.

"Actually." I say "Can I sleep in here tonight? I hate sleeping alone sometimes." I ask.

"Of course." He whispers with a smile on his face.

I walk over to his bed and get in, he slowly gets in after me. We face each other in the bed and whisper our goodnights falling asleep that way.

That was the best night's sleep I'd had in the palace since arriving the first time.

It was peaceful, but we all know what happens after this family finds a little bit of peace, absolute chaos. 

Authors Note-

Okay so the majority either said yes to Rhane becoming pregnant or they didn't know but I needed to write so I just went with yes. And again I know these chapters are really small but I'm still kind of trying to find fillers until the ending dramatic stuff lol. 

The next three chapters will definitely be my favorite to write and I'm so excited for your thoughts. Also I don't know if I've already said this but I already know what the ending will be and I'm not gonna say anything other than Rhane is right, absolute chaos. Until next time, XOXO Belle.
