A haunting

Haruki. He knew him the best. I wander around campus. This was only like my third time here. Where the hell was the ice rink? I wanted to scream. I stormed along my anger building inside me.

"Ritsuka?" I heard a puzzled voice call out. I looked up. Akihiko was just pulling his helmet off. I sighed.

"Yeah, where is the stupid ice rink?" I demanded.

"Oh, um other side of campus." He must have seen something in my face. He chuckled holding out the helmet to me.

"Get on, I'll drive you over." I took the heavy helmet. "Don't tell your sister." He warned me. I snorted slipping on behind him. He didn't know how badly my sister wanted this seat all to herself. I held on to the back as he drove around the slim roads. The cars whizzed by, I didn't pay them much attention. I needed to talk to Haruki.

The bike pulled up to a large low building. I hopped off holding the helmet out to Akihiko. He took it placing it over the handle bar. He swung off to follow me inside. The music was loud. It filled the arena. I could hear the heart Akihiko had put into it. It thrummed through your body. Stumbling slightly over a raised lip on the floor, I caught the bar separating the seats from the door. What I saw was amazing.

Haruki was dressed in all black workout gear. His hair was pulled back, braids on the side as they gathered in a ponytail. His body was music. The way he flowed around the ice, how effortlessly he jumped into the air. He moved with the music as if it guided him from inside. I could see how he interpreted it. A lovers dance. Possible even the love he held for Akihiko, flowed through him. I turned my head. The man stood beside me.

His blond hair was short, allowing his piercings to be on full display. One hand was tucked into the front pocket of his jeans. The other was pulling at his lip. I could tell he wasn't aware of it. His eyes. They were the only thing that held life. Was he even breathing? I watched him as he watched the small figure moving around on the ice.

"Beautiful." He breathed out. I smirked. Maybe this love wasn't unrequited. I stomped down the stairs to stand before the boards. The music swelled up to its highest peek.

Haruki flung his body up in the air. I never saw any one jump that high. I gaped as his body spun around over my head. It came down flowing out with the music. A trailing away of the instruments until only the violin was left. Haruki spun in one last circle hugging his arms around his chest as the music ended he lifted his head to look right at us. He held the pose until about thirty seconds after the last note sounded. Akihiko just starred at the man. Haruki came out of the tight pose. Akihiko began to clap. The man on the ice jumped, promptly falling on his ass.

"Who, whose there?" he muttered. I glanced up. He had on all the lights. He was on his feet almost to us by the time I looked back. Akihiko smiled as Haruki came up.

"That was amazing." He grinned.

"Th, thank you." Haruki picked up a towel to wipe at the sweat on his face. "What are you guys doing here?" he asked.

"I needed to talk to you." I demanded. "I couldn't find this place. Ran into Akihiko, he gave me a lift." I said. Haruki shooed me back so he could step off the ice. He sat down to put guards on his blades.

"What did you need to talk to me about?" He asked.

"Mafuyu." I muttered rubbing my neck.

"What about him?" Haruki wasn't looking at Akihiko.

"Well, he's been acting weird for a few days. Then like two days ago he went silent. I tried calling, texting, I even went to your house but he wouldn't answer the door." I moaned.
