The local religions and topography officer on The Divine Intervention, she rarely put her skills in varying mythologies and cultures to use on their adventure against Divento. To be completely honest, she wasn't sure why the team needed an officer like that, but she enjoyed learning about mythologies, even if the existence of their enemies disproved many, if not all, of them.Upon the Divine Intervention's dissolution, she was asked to join the Divine Institute, or join the Galactic Protogenic Collective (GPC)'s governing body as part of the Environmental/Cultural branch, but she declined both offers. She didn't want to be in the government, and she felt that she wouldn't provide much for the institute, even if Mason had asked her personally.
Instead, she traveled the universe with her own personal ship, Theseus, named by Axel and Scion, who built the ship specifically for her. A beauty of engineering and Boson-Energy, outfitted with the best weapons and shields, including some experimental ones. The keys to control the ship were her weapons, Righteous judgment and Heavenly Justice. She took to the universe, eventually becoming a bounty hunter, where she learned exactly how deadly her power of light could be.
She stopped by lone dust planets and bustling city-states, ventured beyond the realm of the GPC and into neighboring smaller countries, encountering numerous species and making allies and enemies across the galaxy. Yet to find a girlfriend though, although she was rather fine with that, as she doubted her type of woman would want to travel the galaxy.
Exploring the deepest corners of the universe, she found something hidden, something ancient, primordial. Something that had never been found before, even in this age of scientific explosion and the creation of gods. No, she found something else, something that expanded her powers and brought a new light to her bounty hunting.
And just a day after making that discovery, she received it. The Black Letter, just in case a new threat arose in the universe.
And with this new power, she knew she could answer the call.
Short Story - The light at the End of the Tunnel
The dust planet of Icon-2 was known for how beautiful and deadly it can be. Beautiful and shining gemstones mixing in with the harsh winds made a sparkling twister that was as deadly as it was mesmerizing. The local peoples, before they reached interstellar travel, likened the shimmering tornados to the wrath of one of their gods.
That the dust kicked up was a terrible fight between two gods, and the glimmering shower of gemstones that only seemed to shatter inside the storm was the effect of the terrible fight. Only when they started to reach a sort of industrial age did they question their beliefs, and by the time that Cardinal arrived, looking for her next boundy, it was an old tale to tell kids to either scare them, or give them wonder.
Cardinal walked down the streets, her tail gently swaying in the breeze as she stalked down them. At this time of the day, when the sandstorms were particularly fierce, the streets were always empty. Many of the town's residents holed up safely in burrows beneath their homes, a common occurrence. The above-ground homes are only a modern addition for tourism.
Her target was on this planet, in this town. She trekked them down well enough. She had been hunting them for a while now, a Nadarklen, a race of angler-fish-esque people. This particular Nadarklen, Liopa, was a particularly dangerous boundy. She made sport out of hunting the bounty hunters looking for her. She was a star in the underworld, and a menace to those in the light.
And Cardinal was the light.
Cardinal held her hand out, feeling the light shine bright around her. Liopa might've thought that hiding in a desert planet despite being a Nadarklen, a species that needed water, would give her some protection, No one would look for her there. But Cardinal knew she was smart, she hid her presence well. She was extremely rich, she could easily hide in the desert planet and have water.
