The seldom recalled member of the Divine Intervention, Retaliate is mostly fine with being forgotten by the majority of the Divine Institute. She was rather neutral about the time dissolving - both disliking it but also understanding it. Especially since she nearly died a few times through the process.
She now spends her days traveling between The Forge and The Divine Institute, tending to flip-flop on where she wants to stay. She likes not having to meet many new people and being able to do whatever she wants at the Institute, but going to the Forge provides many great opportunities - and at times she's fine breaking out of that shell.
As a former member of the Divine Intervention, Retaliate tends to lay back and eat, though she still retains training with her sai, Counter-Strike. She often spars against many other protogen and species at both The Forge and The Divine Institute, but they often end up worse for wear - given her Flow.
Nowadays, she can be found walking through the gardens on both planets, training in the training grounds, and eating copious amounts of fish and beef in the cafeteria, her favorite combination of foods - something that many people consider rather not that satisfying to witness being combined.
Her mindset going forward is one of general apathy and neutrality. She often says, when questioned by Nikon of The Forge, that she doesn't feel that much about much of anything. She is just thankful to exist, and feels appreciative that she could help out. That was about it generally speaking, no major opinions or deviations from her personality.
There was one thing though that did change - it was her attitude towards the faux gods of their universe, and apparently, the actual gods of their universe. All other things aside, that one thing is what truly peaked her interest.
And may just end up in finally getting her to leave on her own and see more of what is out there.
However, that's only a possibility, one of the numerous that exist, and Retaliate, even as excited as she is, is more than ready to take it slow.
Especially with that Black Letter safely tucked away in her quarters.
Story - Scholarly Functions
There were many classes and lecture halls and rooms within the Divine Institute.
That alone would be expected, it is a learning establishment as much as it was a military school and a scientific laboratory, and a whole host of other odds and ends. What many didn't expect was just the vast weirdness, as well as the vast power, that the place held.
Retaliate was well accustomed to the power that the Institute held, she herself took the brunt force of it all to the chest whenever she was asked to be spared with, which was often by the new Guardian trainees looking to see if their new power can even hurt her a little bit.
But she was never invited to any of the lectures. Save for today.
"Boson Energy. You all have it, you all are well accustomed to it. The energy produced by Boson Particles, little colored molecules that can go faster than the speed of light, which breaks reality in ways we still cannot comprehend, which produces this reality altering energy, which then we can harness with science and technology."
Retaliate sighed, tapping her paw against the wooden stage she was propped up on, twirling her sai in one hand, not even looking at her opponent. Sure, this was also a bit of a sparring match, but it was educational, so it didn't count.
"The powers that we are given, or are generated, through this control are what we call "Flows"." The speaker, a protogen named Confession, spoke to the crowd, a milky white protogen with metallic bits like opal and with a visor like pearls, "There are many types. Here today, we have a member of the team that saved our universe! Retaliate, my dear."
