The calm and reserved protogen doctor with an utterly broken Flow, it's not hard to believe that Gear-Work was scooped up by the GPC soon after the Divine Interventions' dissolution. Although Gear-Work did have some desire to work at the Institute, he decided his Flow would be better used in one large factor of the government, the fourth and final class, the Environmental Class. As a councilman of the Environmental Class, Gear-Work travels throughout the planets to oversee their growth, their exploitation of their environment, and making sure that no violations occur. Alongside his job as a councilman, Gear-Work works both as a terraformer and a medic. His name has spread like wildfire through the GPC.
The complete control over breaking down and reforming matter in any way was and is an entirely powerful Flow, one that he doubted another protogen would have in a long time, if ever again. This kind of unfettered Flow was dangerous, hell, without the Overclock serum he wouldn't be able to use his Flow at all unless attached to a large Boson Generator.
A doctor and engineer to his core, Gear-Work does his best to help others and make sure that everything goes smoothly. And with the Environmental Class of the council, Gear-Work feels like he can finally do that. Though, he did sometimes wish the politics of galaxies wasn't so complex.
No matter how hard the job is or how much he has to memorize, how many policies and regulations and laws, Gear-Work feels he's up to the task. With his Flow, matter bends, breaks, and forms beneath his claws. With his Flow, he can make things right, he can make things better, he can form mountains and reshape rivers, restructure entire ecosystems.
And of course, with his Flow, he can reshape or obliterate anyone who would do others, or the environment, wrong. That black letter tucked away in his satchel is very, very evident to that fact.
Story - Reformation
"Shouldn't be too hard... The mountain is a decent size, I think I can carve a passage through withrough disturbing too much. I'm not sure if it can be wide enough for a road, but-"
Gear-Work glanced up towards the mountain ahead of them, clutching the side of the hover-car with tense claws, "I think I can try. The main issue is not disrupting the forest on the other side of the mountain. I think I can construct a ramp, but that might take away too much stability."
The car's driver, a pleasant looking cat-like creature named Vorlorn, clicked his tongue pessimistically, "I think it'll be fine. Roads are hardly used nowadays anyways, what with hover cars. Mostly just for trucks and logging things. Too heavy to be suspended."
Gear-Work nodded in approval of his response, "That may be true, but we have to make sure the road is stable anyways. I believe the local government wants a new capital city between this mountain range and the next. Many trucks will be passing through. The passage needs to be safe."
Vorlorn grew quite, before he started to speak again, "You know, I'm always impressed by you." he started, turning the wheel gently to turn the hover car, drifting through the air to a complete stop to turn, "Weren't you a doctor on that Divine Intervention thing? Now you're a builder, terraformer, all that?"
Gear-Work chuckled, his claws tensing as the vehicle spun to lower itself to the grassy floor beneath them. He didn't much like the feeling, "Yes, I was a doctor for a good long while. I still am, and I still have the credentials to use my Flow to heal. However, my Flow is best suited for terraforming. That is why I joined the Environmental Class of the new government."
The cat chuckled, easing the door to the car open and stepping out onto the grass, quickly stretching, "Yeah, I getcha. Still, quite the career switch." He turned his head to glance at the mountain, whistling as he saw the size, "Damn... you think you can carve through it within the hour?" He asked.
