"Ink come on, your taking forever."
"I need to find the right shirt!!!-"
"We're going to a park, how important can a shirt be? Just pick one."
"But-"
"No! Hurry up!-"
Blue huffed from downstairs with Dream giggling a bit behind him. "It's okay Blue, it's not like the park is going anywhere." "I know but I don't want to be there forever!"
"Blue...we don't have a full schedule."
"Yeah- but- still-"
Blue huffed and Dream took his face in his hands. Kissing Blue's cheek. Making Blue turn a bright light blue color. "It's okay." He said softly and then Ink came almost tripping down the stairs. "Okay! Okay! I'm ready!-" Ink called and huffed a little. Blue holding Dream's hand by then. "Finally..." "Okay! Let's go!" Dream said with a smile and made a portal for the three. Ink taking Blue's hand. Blue hardly holding back but still did. Ink taking notice and he frowned a bit. The three walking through the portal. Going to the park and heading to trail. While on their walk, Ink seemed to stick really close to Blue. Despite Blue not seeming to completely reciprocate. Dream having to the be the one to start conversation. It only got more tense as the outing went. Dream could feel something off with Ink and the easy irritation of Blue. He wondered what he could to to lighten things up a bit.
"So, should we go somewhere for dinner? Or maybe just pick something up and eat at home? Maybe even get something simple to make?" Dream tried to ask and suggest. "Doesn't matter to me." Blue said with a small eye roll. Dream sighing. "What about you Ink?" He asked. Noticing Ink pull away from him and Blue. "I uh...I-I don't mind I um...I-I think I need to go sit down..." Ink said with a small shake and headed to a bench. Sitting down, holding his arms, eyes shaking. Dream frowned, taking Blue's hand. "Blue-" Dream started but Blue pulled his hand away. Seeing Ink's state he just. He slightly froze and he backed away. "I...I can't." He said. "I'm gonna keep going...meet you at the portal spot..." Blue said. Quickly walking off with his hands in his pockets. "Oh boys..." Dream mumbled with a sigh to himself. He let Blue have his time to cool off on his own. Going over to Ink. "Ink, are you alright sweetheart?" "No..."
"Do you want to talk about it?"
Dream asked and Ink started to sniff with a small whimper. "I-I'm sorry Dream!- I'm ruining everything- I thought that having a soul now I-I'd be better...but I just feel like I'm worse and now-" Ink's voice started to break. "Now I feel like Blue is falling out of love with me- I-I'm such a fucking mess-...I-I just wanted to be able to love you guys properly- a-and n-now it feels like I'm a fucking toddler having to learn how to be a fucking person- I just-!" Ink brought his hands down to his face, pulling his legs up on the bench and started crying. "I-I want to be better-! I-I want to be good enough for you-! Both of you!!!-" Ink sobbed. Dream frowning gently.
"Ink...you are perfect just the way you are. You may be a bit of a mess, but who isn't? Me and Blue certainly aren't perfect. And you're just getting adjust to your new soul. It's not your fault. And Blue is just getting used to the change too. But you should talk with him about this. I know that his temper has had a shift. But, he's not like us and from all that we've been through, it's past stress and regressed feelings finally coming through. Believe me, I've talked about it with him." Dream said, taking Ink's hands and placing them down. Wiping the tears off his face. "It's okay, it's absolutely okay for you to struggle and have a bit of a hard time. Just talk to us, let us know when things seem like a bit much. We'll help you." Dream said. "We love you Ink. I know Blue certainly does, he's not falling out of love with you." Dream said. Pulling Ink close into a hug. "You're not a bad person either, everyone has their ups and downs. Not to mention, you're just learning." Dream giggled a little, giving Ink a light tap on the nose. "You're not going to get an understanding of your feelings for a while now." Dream kissed Ink on the head. "Come on, let's go find Blue." Dream said and Ink nodded with small sniffles. He and Dream walked, but as they were walking, someone bumped harshly into Ink. Knocking him down and out of Dream's arms. "Ink!" He called out, screaming when his arms were grabbed. Gagging when he was hit with an unfortunate smell of heavy liquor and cigarettes. "Heya baby~ wanna come home with me?" The male holding Dream slurred. "Get off me creep!" Dream yelled, easily frustrated. Ink felt...everything just clench and he froze. Without a soul, he was easily able to get out of situations like this. But, because he was more aware of the dangers and possibilities...he panicked. Everything started to slow, blur, and disorientate.
Dream immediately felt Ink's anxiety as he was sitting on the sidewalk. "Ink! Ink! Can you hear me?!" Dream called, the male holding his arms trying to push him to a lamp post. Dream growled and ripped himself from the males drunken grasp. "I said get off!!!" Dream shouted. The male tumbling a little and falling into grass. Dream started running to Ink when another person was going toward him. "Get away from him!! Leave us alone!" Dream yelled, getting in front of them. That causing Dream to be grabbed instead. Dream screamed once more in anger, trying to pull away but this other person didn't seem to be under the influence of any kind. Which slightly raised Dream's anxiety. Once Ink heard Dream's frustrated scream, he snapped out of it and quickly went to help. Dream and Ink now trying to fight off this stranger. "L-l-let g-go!-" Ink trembled with a stammer. The person grabbing Ink's wrist as well, starting to drag the two. Both of course start yelling and screaming for help. Just as it seemed their restrain and struggle was useless, the stranger was punched hard in the face. "Blue!!!" Ink and Dream cried out. Ink immediately hugging Blue after. "I-I'm sorry! I-I'm a b-burden-! I-I don't w-wanna be! I-I'm t-trying! I promise!- p-p-please d-don't be a-angry with m-me! I-I c-can't stand it-! I-I!–" "Ink." "W-What...?" "You're not a burden. Annoying and a little hard to deal with sure. But you're not a burden. You never will be. My frustration isn't toward you. It's..your situation. I just..worry and because I feel I don't have much control to make you better..." Blue shrugged a little with a weary smile. "Guess I just...get really sad and angry that I can't help sometimes. And it hurts because, I love you, Ink." Blue confessed, smiling and hugging Ink back. "It's okay. You're learning to handle emotions for the first time for yourself. I can't blame you for that. Especially because you started learning for me and Dream." He said and Ink looked up at Blue and he started sobbing. "Awe!! T-that's s-s-so- sweet!!!!!" Ink cried and Blue chuckled a little. "You're adorable Inky." He said and Dream smiled a bit. Blue looked down at the stranger on the ground. "I think we've had enough excitement for one night. How about we head home for a some rest?" Blue said, Ink crying softly and he nodded. Blue kissing his head gently as Dream came over and padded Blue on the shoulder. "Look at you soldier~ Saving everyone tonight huh?" Dream giggled a bit. "Ah, yeah yeah." Blue said and the three made their way back to the base.
