All Is Fair In Love and The Game

"Kaileah Naomee Lathon you better wake the hell up before you're late to work!"

Kai heard her mom Sidney's voice yell from the bottom of the staircase. She sat up in her queen size bed and rubbed sleep out of her grayish eyes. She looked over at her alarm clock and quickly jumped outta bed realizing she would be late for work.

"FUCK! Why didn't my alarm go off?!?"

Kai said as she scrambled to the shower. After she got out she walked over to her closet and looked around for somthing to wear, this process usually took her about 45 minutes but since she was short on time she had to slap somthing together. Since it was spring it was kind of windy outside so she decided on a black off the shoulder sweater that showed off the tattoo on her right shoulder, black leggings, and some black Steve Madden combat boots with silver spikes on the heel and toe. It wasn't one of her best outfits but she figured it was just work so it didn't really matter. She pulled her hair up into a messy bun, grabbed her black aviator sunglasses and her black Micheal Kors bag, put on a little body spray from bath and body works and headed downstairs.

As she walked down the spiral stair case of her mothers nice sized 2 story home she noticed her mothers boyfriend sitting on the couch drinking a glass of pink lemonade. She rolled her eyes and walked into the kitchen where she saw her mom sitting at the table sorting through bills.

"Yo bright ass won't be happy until you get fired will you? Ima tell you now you ain't stayin here unless you got a job! Hell you already aint in school" She said not looking up from the papers in front of her.

Kaileah rolled her eyes at her moms comment. Sidney's bitching was somthing she had gotten used to when her dad died 2 years ago. Her once loving mother had turned bitter and cold when the love of her life died of lung cancer. She took it out on Kai almost every chance she got. Mainly because Kai was the spitting image of her father Antonio, from the funny colored eyes to high cheeck bones and pouty pink lips. The only thing she really got from her mother was her skin tone and nice shape, but you wouldn't be able to tell that by how her mother looked now. She had gained about 110 pounds which made her confidence drop drastically. Kai looked through the fridge for the last can of pink lemonade she hid but she couldn't find it.

"Mom you act like i didn't graduate, i just wanted to take a year off before going to college . I needed to figure some shit...i mean stuff out, and where is my lemonade?"

"You better watch your mouth when you talk to me Kaileah i ain't one of yo lil friends out here, i'll fuck yo ass up! I let Tony have it, he was thirsty" she said as he walked in the kitchen with a smirk on his face and placed a kiss on her cheeck.

"You let him drink MY lemonade that I paid for?!" Kai said visibly upset

Sidney stopped sorting through the stack of bills in front of her and looked up at Kai.

"Excuse me?" She said standing up.

"Im just saying, i bought it for me so i should be the only one drinking it. Im the only one that paid for it" Kai said not making eye contact with her mom

"Ohh, okay. Gotcha." Sidney said sitting back down. She picked up the pile of bills again, and skimmed through them until she found a specific one.

"Lets see, hmm...thats strange." she said with a confused look on her face

"This...this is the electric bill, but...its has my name on it for some reason" she held it up for Kai to see. "Isn't that strange?"

Kai rolled her eyes already knowing her mother was about to go on a rant.

"Yeah thats right, roll ya eyes because you already know what the fuck i'm about to say! Mad about some damn juice, shit I'm mad i have to pay all these fucking bills! Until YOUR name is on one of these muthafuckas" she said holding the bills up " or you start paying some damn RENT, whats yours is mine, and what's mine is his! Now get out my face!"
