All Is Fair In Love and The Game

Chapter 5

1 MONTH LATER

It had been a while since Kai and Mello had spoken to eachother and Kai's feelings were hurt but her pride wouldn't let her show it to him. Mello had her acting crazy and that wasn't somthing she was used to. Sometimes she would sit around the house playing sad old songs that made her feel worse and other times she played old songs that made her want to bust the windows out his car. Homegirl was an emotional rollercoaster and that made her realize how much feelings she had for him.

Kai sat on her bed and thought about what to wear like she always did but her mind drifted off to Mello. He really hadn't called her or texted her since that day they fell out and that irritated the shit out of her because he was always on her mind. She was so over this not talking stage but she'd be damned if she made the first move, especially since she wasn't the one that fucked up.

The only good thing that came out of the last month was that she Enrolled into college to become a stylist and she LOVED it. She had even met a new friend named Dezarae(Dez-Uh-Ray) and the two had gotten close fast. Dez was the opposite of Kai in almost every way and maybe thats why the clicked so well. Dez unlike Kai was Brown skinned and had short hair that was always styled perfectly because she did it herself. She had pretty almond shaped brown eyes and legs for days Kai always joked with her that Kelly Rowland was her long lost twin. Dez was a lot thicker though, she defined the term "Coke bottle shape" to a T.

Kai got off her bed and looked out the window, it was the begining of summer but it was still raining like the middle of spring and it matched Kai's mood. She walked back over to her closet and grabbed a PINK peach jogging suit with black lettering that was hanging up and put it on, she looked at the clock to make sure she wasn't going to be late for class. Her professors had already given her warnings and she literally couldn't afford to get dropped from any class. She took her bonet off and teased her hair with her fingures so she could get her signature curly fro. She put on her black sequence Uggs, grabbed her book bag and keys and was out the door. When she pulled up to the huge university she saw Dez standing there tapping her foot. Kai giggled and shook her head she knew Dez was waiting for her and was probably gonna curse her out for being a little late. Kai got out the car and walked over to where she was standing

"Heyyyy Dez!" she said

"Don't hey Dez me! you got me sittin up here in all this rain, my hair almost got messed up messin around waiting for yo tardy ass" Dez said.

"Dez chill im here now that's all that matters" Kai said playfully brushing her off

"Yea yea cmon before we be late to dis damn class" she said which made Kai laugh.

As Kai sat through a long lecture about vintage fashion she doodled sketches in her notebook. She snapped back to reality when she saw the rest of the class get up out the corner of her eye. She looked around for Dez and noticed her over by the door flirting with the professor. She smirked and shook her head. As she started to gather her things together she felt her phone vibrate. She looked around in her bag for a while until she found it and when she saw who it was from she felt her heart skip a beat.

Kai got the rest of her things together and walked over to where Dez was.
