One last time- Kazuha X Reader

(Heavy Angst) (Reader will be a cyro catalyst user. I'm also going to give them voice lines when they use their skill. Ignore them if you want to<3)

I was getting antsy as I waited for the Alcor to dock in the harbor of Liyue. I was also getting impatient as I waiting for Kazuha. It had been a while since I seen him. It was still gonna be a while before the crew got here so I was trying to distract myself. I had already browsed some books I want to read but I just couldn't focus. I had done some chores, finished some other things that needed to get done, and hung out with some of my friends. I had even helped Qiqi organize some herbs at the pharmacy. It was only early afternoon and I had done almost everything I could think of. The sun was hot as I walked down the street. I was so excited. As I looked at the stone path I heard yelling,"They're early!" I looked at where the voice came from. I saw the Alcor pulling into the dock. I gasped and started running. As I got closer I saw Kazuha looking around. I ran straight and hugged him tightly after a moment he hugged back. I heard Beidou's voice,"Oh Y/N I got something funny to tell you." I loosened my grip around Kazuha as I looked at the tall woman,"The only reason we're here early is cause lover boy here wouldn't stop bugging me." She smiled and Kazuha looked away with a red face. I smiled as well I went to speak then I heard someone call for Beidou I looked and saw Ninnguang. Beidou smiled at us before she walked over to Ninnguang. I saw them hug then walk away holding hands. I looked back at Kazuha,"Did you really miss me that much?" I smiled. He nodded,"You know how much I love you blossom." My face turned red at the name. I saw him smile as he kissed my forehead. "Do you want to go for a walk?" He said as he grabbed my hand. I nodded,"Sounds lovely Kazuha." We started walking out of the harbor.

The wind was blowing lightly and the atmosphere was calm. The breeze was calming and refreshing. "Where exactly are we going?" I looked at Kazuha,"I don't really have a destination in mind." He said looking down. I looked out over the plains seeing the mountains of Liyue in the distance."Oh how about we walk near Dunyu ruins?" I asked looking at him. "We just need to be careful. Last time I was in Liyue apparently some adventures had been attacked." I smiled and reassured him,"My friend Keqing says that the Millileth has cleared out the ruins." He nodded and we started towards the ruins. As we walked Kazuha spoke in a gentle voice,"I love you blossom." I blushed,"I love you to Kazuha. What made you want to say that randomly." He shrugged,"Sometimes you need to remind your partner how much you care about them." I blushed again and thanked him. He kissed my cheek and smiled. And we went on walking.

The ruins were in the distance as the sun was directly overhead. The wind was still blowing lightly. I was talking to Kazuha about a book I had read with Xingqiu. I also talked to him about the current events happening in Liyue. He simply just listened with a smile.

(Kazuha P.O.V)

Listening to Y/N ramble was one of my favorite things to do. The way they had this excited tone everything they talked about one of their passions, the smile they had, and the way their eyes lit up as they talked about it. I would do anything for them. Anything. That's what you do when you love someone. You protect them. I'm glad I found the person I want to spend the rest of my life with, a true love.

(Back to normal P.O.V and mini time skip)

The ruins were a beautiful sight. There were a few hilichurls but they were in the distance and not a threat. It was quiet. We walked around the water's edge, the sunlight hit the ruins at the perfect angle. It was breath taking. Until I saw the worst thing possible. Fatui members in the ruins not to far if they turned they would see us. Kazuha said in a quiet voice,"I thought you said they were gone?" I shook my head,"That's what Keqing said and she's not the type to joke especially about this kind of thing." He looked at the people,"Should we walk away or take them out?" I shook my head,"I don't know." Just then a fatui agent looked up. And I feel my heart sink.

I quickly summoned my weapon as Kazuha did. He stepped in front of me a little. The Fatui started walking towards us. I saw what elements they had. One hydro,one pyro, and one electro. Luckily there wasn't a cyro one. In a lowered voice I said to Kazuha,"The electro is gonna be the hardest." He said back,"I know blossom." He smiled softly. They got closer. I fired a charged attack. It did some damage. Kazuha ran forward at them. He was focused so I stayed out of his way. I used my cryo skill,"Feeling cold yet?" I yelled at the hydro fatui member. Kazuha was focused on the electro one. I kept firing attacks at the fatui. Doging the pyro ones shots. I felt like I had enough energy to use a burst of cyro power. I got closer to the hydro user. I used my energy,"Feels like Hebra."(Legend of Zelda reference) He was frozen. I took the window to do as much damage as possible. I saw Kazuha take a heavy hit,"Be careful Kazuha!" I yelled he got up and ran back into the fight. I saw blood drip from his lip. I decided to handle my fight quickly. I held back nothing. I relentlessly threw attack after attack at him. Using my skill as soon as I could. He soon fell to his knees and was defeated. I went to run to Kazuha as the pyro member blocked me. I gasped as a shot burned the side of my face. I quickly turned towards him. And started to attack him. I used my skill,"Freeze easy now." I smiled as I saw him hunch over. I took the chance to run over to him I put my weapon and used another burst of power,"The cold kills." I went back to attacking him. I took a sharp breath as I used one last charged attack to defeat him. I looked over as Kazuha got knocked back by the fatui member's huge hammer. I ran over and caught him. I set him down he was in terrible shape. ,"I'll handle him. Please don't close your eyes, it'll be okay." I said as I tried to keep calm. The enemy was mostly done. Just a little more. I used my skill again,"Frost hurts." I used charged attacks instead of regular to make it go faster. I looked down and couldn't see he was going to use an attack strong enough to kill me. As I looked up I saw Kazuha's body in front of mine as the hammer swung. Kazuha yelled an Inazuman curse in pain. I screamed,"NO!" It was to late, I quickly killed the fatui member as I picked up Kazuha. He was still breathing. I quickly ran somewhere secluded.

I set him down and put his head in my lap. I sobbed. Tears fell like rain. I heard Kazuha's weak voice,"Y/N, don't cry please. I don't want to see you sad." I tried to dry my tears he continued,"Everyone has a time, mine is now I-" "No it's not now, it's supposed to be later, when we can go together." I choked a little from crying."Y/N please, you know life is not a fairy tale, even if it was they don't all have happy endings." He motioned me closer,"Can you kiss me one last time blossom?" I looked into his half lidded eyes, I tried to stop crying as I leaned down. I pressed my lips against his. For a moment we stayed like that. When I pulled away his breath was dwindling. In the quietest voice I heard him,"I love you and I can't wait to tell Tomo all about you. Please tell Beidou I appreciate her. And take this." He reached for his vision. His hand was shaky as he handed it to me. He looked at me and smiled as the rise and fall of his chest stopped. The vision turned white and cloudy in my hand. I looked at his limp body. I pulled it into a hug as I screamed in pain and grief. It wasn't supposed to go like this. But I did fulfill his one last wish.
