Chapter 17

We arrived back home at about 7pm, to pick up something to eat from the grocery store. Elaine said she was making it tonight. I saw her buy two whole chickens, so we were going to be carnivorous tonight as well.

Back in the house I decided to take a warm bubble bath. I think Elaine was marinating a chicken in the kitchen sink. I didn't care to much as long as the water was warm and the bubbles were high. I sat back against the rim of the tub and closed my eyes to relax.

I hummed ' life is beautiful' by Vega 4 then I started singing 

" ~ Life is beautiful

we love until we die

when you run into my arms,

we steal a perfect moment.

Let the monsters see you smile,

let them see you smiling.

Do I hold you too tightly?- "

I heard the Kelpie's voice, except  it was a lot closer than I though I though it would be 

" you sing pretty good, I thing I know it keep going "

I opened my eyes wide and sat up, letting the bubbles cover my chest. The Kelpie was sitting in my bath with me, his hair was in his face and it looked like he wasn't wearing a shirt or clothes at that.

I squirmed " how and why are you in my bath? "

He sat back and relaxed sighing " I'm a Kelpie remember, I call appear from any body of water "

I pulled more bubbles over to my body to cover in a veil of foam, he reassured " don't worry, I've seen many beautiful naked women. I guess your just a few numbers under their ranking "

' what the fuck is that suppose to mean, I'm I not as pretty as the girls he saw before? Well he must be blind since I am as beautiful as Aphrodite herself ' I though to my self in doubt of his words

But I did notice he kept skimming over my body or what was visible from his point, I asked 

" so what were you asking before you insulted my....body "

He was mid-stare when I asked him, he slid his gaze from my collar-bone to my eyes licking his canines in the process. 

" oh...right.....that song I think I know it from somewhere. Sing it again and maybe I'll join you "

I raised an eyebrow in protest " what makes you think, I would actually sing for you after you insulted me "

He begged " come on please, I'm dying to hear it again "

He muddled closer begging please, until I could feel his hand on my thigh. I wasn't going to let him any closer so I agreed. I sung

He started singing around here, his voice was so soft but rough it synchronized with mine perfectly he moved in closer.

"~When will the hurt kick in?

Life is beautiful, but it's complicated. 

We barely make it.

We don't need to understand,

His hand moved to my hip and the other to hand cupping my cheek. His face to mine our noses nuzzled, foreheads touching. The last thing I wanted to feel were his lips on mine.

"~Stand where you are.

We let all these moments pass us by. 

It's amazing where I'm standing, 

There's a lot that we can give.

This is ours just for a moment.

He moved in for the kiss when Elaine slammed open the door and boomed " KELPIE WHERE THE FUCK DID MY CHICKEN GO! " 

The Kelpie stopped and evily grinned I backed up and asked " you ate the chicken? it was raw "

He snickered " it tasted better raw, anyway see ya later "

He took a breath before diving into my bathwater and disappearing, he was gone. I didn't even get to kiss him, I was dying too. But he ate a raw chicken, no way I'd let that bacteria in my mouth. Elaine ended

" he didn't even leave the bones, he left the liver and heart heart though. Do you want to eat that for soup? "

I suggested " you bought two chickens right? why not cook the other one instead? "

She gasped like she never thought of that, she ran out the door shutting it behind her. Ugh can't I take  a bath in peace, just one bath is what I ask for.
