- ZOE'S POV -
Zoe tried to make her way through the packed venue full of drunk ex-youtubers, but she soon felt the familiar wave of anxiety run throughout her body as she was pushed and shoved around amongst the tight and overcrowded space.
It was a feeling she'd tried to push away over the years, but she knew it was there to stay; as much as she despised it, anxiety followed her everywhere.
It was one of the many reasons she'd left her daughter with Alfie. It had been her younger self's foolish decision, made upon nothing but anxiety and fear.
She did the best thing her anxiety ridden mind could do; run away from her responsibilities.
Did she regret it?
Absolutely.
Would she change her actions?
No.
From what she'd heard, Alfie and his close friends and family were raising her to be a wonderful child; that was more than she'd ever be able to do.
Five minutes later, she'd freed herself from the sea of people and was trying to prevent the panic attack that was bubbling through her body.
All she could think about was her heavy, yet short breaths, the fact that she was freezing cold and sweating heavily under the cool summer breeze. Her vision was clouded with tears that were threatening to spill down her rosie red cheeks.
She needed Alfie.
Amongst all of this, the only thing she could think about was Alfie... And not being able to breathe.
Even after years of not seeing him, she still craved his touch.
She missed waking up and feeling his stubble tickle her nose, she missed his morning breath and messy hair.
Zoe missed everything about him, as much as she denied it, she was madly in love with Alfie.
Seconds later, she felt his familiar hand on the small of her back. Millions of thoughts began to fly through the anxious girl's mind as her breathing became even more strangled.
Zoe was convinced that it was her mind playing a cruel trick on her, it couldn't be him.
Even if it was, he wouldn't care enough to help her.
"ZOE?! You need to listen to my voice okay, you're safe, I promise..."

ALFIE'S POV
-----
Alfie had eventually made his way to the party and was of course, fashionably late...
If you could consider two and a half hours as anything other than carless or rude.
The brown eyed man made his way down the path slowly, the ground was practically shaking due to the loud music coming from the house.
He'd adapted to being a parent easily, so anything other than disney films and pizza was a crazy night for Alfie.
His attention was soon focused on the small body that was curled up and shaking in the garden, Alfie's protective side immediately sprung into action and before he knew what was happening, he found his legs rushing towards the girl.
Deep down, he knew it was her.
Alfie knew Zoe better than she could ever know herself. Years after the breakup, he'd still find himself pushing away the voice in his mind telling him to find the woman he loved.
Nothing but sadness was displayed across his face when Zoe flinched back from his soft touch: she couldn't help it though, she wouldn't be able to tell you her own name if you'd have asked at that moment.
He quickly pushed all of his previous feelings aside and softened his voice.
"Zoe?! You need listen to my voice okay, you're safe, I promise... I'm here" Her startled eyes relaxed at the sound of his voice and a ghost of a smile appeared across Alfie's lips.
"Listen to my heartbeat, Zo: look at the stars... Remember the constellations?" She nervously nodded and as the fragile girl started to calm down more, he found his arms snaking around her protectively.
At that moment, nothing else mattered.
They acted as if Zoe hadn't run away from her boyfriend and child, like their youtube careers hadn't ended along with their relationship and happiness.
They had each other, that's all they needed.
"Alf?"
His eyes locked with hers as he waited for her to carry on speaking.
"I'm sorry... I never stopped loving you"
Without thinking, Alfie found himself running, just like he'd rushed to Zoe's side hours before.
But this time, he was running away from her.
Alfie was running away from his feelings, the mother of his child.
He was running away from himself.
He'd always thought that the best moments in his life would flash before his eyes before he died.
Childhood memories, his first youtube video, meeting fans, meeting Zoe... Their first kiss, the first time they made love to each other.
He thought he'd see his daughters birth, her first steps, words and the countless moments when she'd made his face light up.
That didn't happen though: this wasn't a fairy tale.
As his car started to spin out of control, hitting various trees on the way, everything that he'd pushed to the back of his mind started to replay in front of his eyes. Fights with his parents about stopping school, the numerous break ups with Zoe at the beginning of their relationship. Their first fight, their break up; every single emotion that he'd been through after she'd left him with their daughter. Every tear that had later run down Rosie's cheeks because she didn't have a mother.
Slowly, the car stopped spinning and with that, the adrenaline stopped running through his body.
Pain.
That's all he could feel.
It wasn't the excruciating feeling that was shooting though his body that bothered him though: it was knowing he was about to leave his life without resolving everything.
Without telling Zoe and Rosie he loved them one last time.
Alfie was supposed to be his daughter's superhero.
He had promised to get her mother back.
Zoe's scared screams voicing out his name was the last thing he heard before darkness overtook his body.
If this was the end, he'd died a hero in his daughters eyes.
He'd got her mother back in the worst possible circumstance.
