Shattered Memory

Look straight into my eyes.
What is it that you see?
A faded dull reflection,
of the person that I used to be.

A wide confident smile,
with my head held high.
Is now a faint memory slowly eroding.
I wish I knew why.

I am no longer,
the woman that I was before.
My time has finally come,
to twist and lock the bolted door.

Throw the key away quickly,
along with the lasts of my hopes and dreams.
As they sink further down the bottomless drain,
wiping my head full of thoughts completely clean.
