Time to Fly

It's scary on my own.
Going far away from this place.
I have somewhere that I need to go,
but I'll get there at my own pace.

Taking myself to new heights,
doing the things I could never do.
They are a part of my ludicrous dreams.
Dreams I still chase down, even without you.

I say my last goodbyes,
as they wish me a final farewell.
I turned away trying not to look back.
Feeling my whole heart start to swell.

Flying up so high,
the ground leaves my line of sight.
All I see is the sun and the sky,
as my worries cloud my head.
An anxious sprout of feelings start to ignite.

Are we going straight or are we going right?
Where else could we end up instead?

Once we landed and then rolled past,
I was shocked but delighted at first.
I was back to the land of the cold.
A stop that never gets old.
With my heart nearly ready to burst.

Riding through the streets.
Seeing people of all kinds.
I was finally free.
In a place I could call mine.
