Bakugo is one of the most well-known and well written characters in anime. Ever. And for good reason. He used to want to kill Deku. And now, he wants to save him.
He went from only showing anger...

To showing other emotions, that he'd kept bottled up...

People who say that BKG is only a bully, don't really understand growth at all, and what BKG's character purpose.
He was meant to be a bully, yes.

And he was also meant... to grow.

(And the fact that we're blessed to see this, is because of Hori, so make sure to give love to the guy.)
Anyhow, we see Bkg developing a lot over the course of a year. He apologizes to Dk and genuinely tries to stop using the derogatory term, which can almost be called a slur /hj, which is improvement.
We also learn that Bkg bullied Dk for reasons. Not good reasons, but reasonable ones. He just wanted to take care of Dk and make sure he didn't die, in his own twisted way. He also wanted to make sure that he was superior, which isn't reasonable at all. But, it's realistic. I've wanted to feel superior before and had complexes, and I'm sure most of us have had one as well.
Humans are flawed, and we need to accept that instead of being critical and unfair. Bakugo is flawed, and rightfully so. But he's getting better.
