" YOU DONT MEAN YOUR WORDS "
Rin sat down at the end of the bench as he placed his silver tray down on the table, his utensils clanking against each other as his teammates look up at him.
His face now decorated with some bandages as he pursed his lips tightly trying to avoid moving his cheeks.
Isagi stared at him in confusion as he leaned forward examining the food in-front of Rin, the rice looked stale and cold, the green pickled vegetables also looked over-soaked in its juices and lets not get started on how dry the meat looked making Isagi contort his face into a disgusted expression.
"Really? School food? I was waiting to steal some of the food from the bento that Yurei always made for you." At the mention of your name, Shidou led out a small mocking laugh causing heads to snap to his direction at the other end of the table.
Rin's jaw only locked as he rolled his eyes in annoyance before stabbing his fork harshly into the meat shredding it apart.
You knew Shidou way before you even knew of Rin's existence, his family was terribly close to yours because of their close friendship back in university basically forcing the both of you to form a close bond.
Your parents would often drop you off at Shidou's house, pushing the responsibility of looking after you into the hands of his parents thus causing Shidou to always stay by your side vowing that he would protect you.
Middle school soon rolled around and before you know it, Shidou's sibling love for you had soon developed into something deeper but the chance to confess never came especially when your popularity suddenly spiked in school causing you to get looped into different friend groups making it hard for him to follow you everywhere.
Shidou was never fond of Rin, his own morals did not allow somebody as narcissistic as Rin to be in charge of looking after you. Especially when he felt that his role got completely robbed by someone who did not deserved it at.
Because of this, Shidou's smile would always falter a tiny bit whenever Rin's name came out of your mouth but he always kept his solemn thoughts to himself understanding that he had to come to term with your choices sooner or later.
However, for Rin, he always saw Shidou as a enemy, one in soccer and personal matters. He never wanted to admit that he felt his heart tug a bit whenever he spotted the both of you guys together feeling inferior because Shidou was there for your far longer thus he always bit back his tongue keeping his negative thoughts to yourself.
The others had already decipher that there were clearly unsaid tension in between the two males, consequently they kept their silence head tilting down as they avoided trying to cause escalation.
Everybody chewed on their food awkwardly as they darted their eyes from side to side telepathically communicating with each other as they timidly nodded their head towards the direction of the two males.
They stared at Rin frightened as he kept repeatedly shredding the meat ignoring the other food on his platter, the impact of his fork landing on the plate made an uncomfortable screeching sound causing one of his friend to nudge the side of his hip.
Rin was unconsciously comparing the school lunch to the fresh bento's that you would always prepared for him, it was always packed in a cute beige lunchbox filled with all his favourite delights and always accompanied by a small container of fresh fruits as well as a carton of melon milk.
He had simply lost all his appetite as he seemingly stared at the plate in front of him which had turned into a gummy mesh, he received another hard nudge to his side causing him to turn his head to the side in a snappy manner.
He was met with Tokimitsu alarmingly pointing his fingers at your figure across the canteen, however you were not alone as a familiar white haired male stood in front of you covering the view of you partially.
Rin observed the both of you guys from a distance painfully as he bit the inside of his cheek, eyes widening when he saw Nagi snatch one of the bento boxes on the table, grabbing the utensils on the side before digging in.
You showed the male in-front of you a dead-panned expression as you nudged his forehead with your pinky finger pushing his head backwards.
Huffing out with puffed cheeks you leaned your head on the palm of your hand tilting your head slightly as you looked at Nagi devour the food in-front of him.
"You know that was not for you right!" You slightly muttered out in frustration as you sat up straight folding your arms over your chest as you sent him a threatening stare.
Your eyes dreading to close as your skin looked drained of colour, the usual spark in your eyes had also dissipated into a dull abyss hue.
Your uniform was not ironed properly with wrinkles everywhere, your collar not neatly folded and some parts of your hair sticked out like bird nest.
Nagi only looked up at you with the chopstick still in between his lips while his mouth continued chewing, before showing you a smug smirk and pointing towards the staring male behind of him.
"Then for who? That unappreciative emo bastard?" Your jaw dropped to the floor as you panicky leaned forward over the table trying to pull down Nagi's hand.
"Don't say that!" You yelled out with an irked expression as Nagi's laugh filled the room, enjoying the embarrassment you felt.
