" WE'RE TWO WORLDS APART "

Rin walked out of the bathroom with a yellow towel draped along the nape of his neck, he used the towel to dry his hair ruffling it on top his wet ends.
He stood at the end of the hallway, leaning against the wall beside the door to the males bathroom as he waited for his teammate, Isagi, to finish cleaning up.

The sound of a female voice laughing accompanied by a males voice could be heard from a distance, echoing throughout the empty school premises.
Usually such things would not strike Rin's interest especially since it was normal for students to roam the school grounds after dismissal hours for clubs and revision.

But the fact that the voices sounded way too familiar was what caused Rin's ear to perk up as he snapped his head towards the direction of the noise.

Rin felt his heart tighten as he examined the view he was met with, Nagi was too invested in whatever you were saying, way too distracted to notice Rin's sharp gaze darted at him.
The both of you guys had the side of your shoulders leaned against the grey lockers, you waved your hands around passionately explaining something to Nagi as he exploded into a fit of laughter at your behaviour which led you to playfully shove ur arm against his shoulder.

Your back was faced toward Rin and all he could see was the school's dark blue track jacket with your name proudly sewn in white on the back.

It was no surprise especially since you were the school's track prodigy but whenever his eyes landed on the piece of fabric, he could only feel your arms around him slowly ghosting and disappearing.

The memories of you tightly hugging him as you thanked him profusely for returning your precious jacket was all that he could think of.

The bell attached to the top door clanked against each other loudly as Rin entered the bustling diner, the aroma of freshly made burgers mixed with the smell of the strong dairy from the milkshakes invaded his nostrils.

The place had different decorations cluttered in each corners with multiple artistic artworks and vintage posters occupying the tiled walls painted in green.
Different neon lights hung on the walls emitting bright colours giving the diner a wonderful atmosphere making it a hotspot for students to flock at after school.

The temperature was a contrast compared to the sunny and hot weather outside causing Rin to shiver and his arms to form goosebumps due to the sudden change.

He crinkled his nose slightly as his eyes trailed along the different groups of customers, some seated at the booths resided beside the large windows while others sat at the counter.
