How did they know?

What does sacrificing myself mean? I asked myself, my head swelling from the heat in the room.
"Amy!" I shouted. "Come back, please!"
I heard her scream.
"Open the doors" she screamed, banging her fists on the heavy grey door.
"Help her!" I shouted at the man, controlling the maintenance pad.
"I'll try!" He replied.
He lifted the door and a wave of frost hit the room. Amy stood there shaking.
"Turns out it wasn't a nuclear bomb!" She laughed. "False alarm everyone!"
She ran up to me.
"Where did you go!" I asked her.
"I had a feeling it was a false alarm, so I went to the main office and checked the control room. They told me!"
"Yeah but, that doesn't explain why you were shaking!"
"They dropped some kind of freeze thing, we have never seen anything like it before!"
"Oh." I replied.
"I found a note on it." She said her voice full of worry.
She showed me the note which was written on a wrinkled piece of notepad paper; Don't think your country is safe. Just you wait. This is just the beginning!
"Oh my goodness!" I said.
"Now come on, let's get out of here before it sets on fire from body heat!"
"When are they coming?"
"An hour, two years, five minutes. Who knows!"
"What happens now?" I asked, whilst texting Mia.
"We get you to a safe house!"
"Where?"
"You will find out very soon!"
"What about my parents back home?"
"Don't worry, they know you are here and you are safe and where you are going!"
"Oh, so they knew who my parents were?"
"Of course they did!" Amy replied. "They know more about you than you do yourself, don't worry it will all come out in the end, eventually!"
We were walking now by a long stream, small fish swam around it, exploring every corner.
"Down here, through that door" she said pointing at a mountain of leaves.
"I can't see anything!" I said protesting.
"That's the idea." She replied laughing.
"So what's your job then?"
"I'm sorry but I'm afraid I can't talk about it" she said frowning.
"Well" I stopped thinking of a question she could answer. "How old are you?"
"21" she replied. "I was at my last year of university when I got scouted!"
"What were you studying?"
"Law"
"Sounds boring!"
She laughed and lifted a small grey hook, beneath the cluster of leaves.
"Jump, it's not far!" She told me.
"You go first" I told her.
"If you say so" she said, her voice travelling with her as she jumped down.
I let my foot slip and my eyes were hit by bright lights as I landed on a net in a garage. Porsche's, Bentley's, Lamborghini's, you name it, that car was I here.
"Wow" I said, my eyes full of envy.
"Now which one do you wanna go in?" She asked.
"Don't mind, any would do!"
"Ok, this one!" She said, pointing at a matte black Range Rover sport.
I jumped in the car, not a spot of dust lay on any of the seats or floor.
"Who cleans them?"
"We do!" She replied, "there are the perks of being a part of the MI5"
She pressed her foot down hat on the peddle and we shot through a garage door into a black tunnel.
"Hang on!" She said to me through her grinding teeth.
I could see the light at the end of the tunnel and within a matter of seconds we were part of the light, landing on a thin slip road.
"How did they know?" I asked Amy.
"Who?"
"My so called parents!"
"You'll find out soon, just be patient"
