Red's pov

I stared out at the mountain edge that I now called my home. Right now I was waiting for any trainers who may come by to challenge the former champion. The cold enwrapped me like a chilly blanket but I didn't mind. I've been here for years now.

A guy like me dosen't fit in with society. As a kid I was too nervous to even speak. Eventually my social anxiety got so bad that I ended up abandoning it all and running up to the famous Mt Silver. I do feel bad about the people I left behind. Mom, professer oak..

Blue.

I shook my head to clear my thoughts. No use thinking about my old friend and the adventures we had. It will only hurt more in the end.

A sudden chilly breeze hit me. I shivered uncontrollably until my partner charzard wrapped his tail around me, his flame lightly tickling my numb.

"thanks buddy" I whispered as I stroked his snout.

I can always rely on my partner through thick and thin. I'm sure charzard doesn't want to be here. I'm sure he's rather travel the world like we used to but he stays anyway cause he doesn't want to leave me. That's true loyalty and I'm grateful for-

"Well well if it isn't the former champion" I jumped at the sound of another persons voice.

I quickly spun around in a fighting position, pokeball in hand.

"relax I'm not here to fight you. I think our fighting days are over don't you?" suddenly the person came into view. My eyes widened..

"blue?"
