Since there was nowhere to sleep really, we decided to go to the backyard and lay on one of the couches out there.

We both cuddled up with a blanket and watched the sun rise, knowing neither of us were gonna be able to sleep.

~~~
We ended up falling asleep at some point, but it wasn't for very long. Before we knew it, the bright sun and heat mixed together, woke us up.
"Good morning, sweetheart." Colby said as I smiled and stretched a little. "Morning, love." I said and kissed him before I cuddled into him a little more. I didn't want to let go, but I will admit, waking up and having it not be a dream, was a dream in itself. I'm so thankful this is real. I'm free and I'm okay.
After a few minutes, Colby kissed my head and spoke up. "Wanna go surprise the kids and then everyone else? Maybe get some breakfast after?" He asked softly, and I smiled again, nodding. "Okay, let's go." He said and patted my side so I'd get up.
We walked up the stairs quietly and made our way to our room where the kids were apparently sleeping. Colby went in first, to wake them up and inform them of a surprise. I hid behind the door, watching the interaction.
"Grey, Rora, wake up, my loves." Colby's whispered as he shook them gently. He tried a few more times before they started moving slightly and then eventually they both sat up sleepily, rubbing their eyes. "Hm?" They both hummed in response. "I have a surprise for you." He said softly. The biggest smile crossed Colby and I's faces as I slowly made my way into the room. "Hi, my loves." I said gently, causing their little heads to whip up in my direction, eyes wide.
"MOMMY!" They yelled as they quickly got up and ran to me. I crouched down as they ran straight into my arms, and I couldn't stop the tears from falling. We just held each other for a few, before Colby made his way over and hugged us as well.
Not long later, the kids were pulling away from the hug, huge smiles on their faces. "We missed you so much!" Grey said, his little dimples popping out. "I missed you all too." I said with a smile as I wiped my tears. "Are you done helping your friend now?" Aurora asked, making me look over at Colby in confusion.
"Yes, she's done helping her friend." He replied for me. "Good, please don't go again without us... we missed you mommy." Aurora said quietly, leaning into me again. "I missed you too, sweetheart." I said and held her tightly against me.
I pulled away after a couple seconds and looked at the kids. "I'm gonna go greet everyone else really quick. Why don't you have daddy help you two get ready and then take you downstairs. I'll make breakfast this morning, okay?" I asked and they nodded, standing up and pulling Colby along.
"Wait, their rooms are being occupied right now though." Colby said and I nodded. "Then maybe take the dogs out?" I suggested and they nodded and left the room. I hadn't seen the dogs yet either because they were in the room we had for them in the basement. They go there to sleep almost every night.
I took a deep breath and then stood up and made my way to one of the smaller guest bedrooms I assumed one of the boys was staying in, because I knew Sam and Kat more than likely took the bigger one.
I cracked the door open quietly and saw Gus. I snook in quietly and laid on the other side of the bed as him. I starting poking his face over and over until he groaned, signaling that he was awake. "What!?" He said and then opened his eyes.
He let them adjust for a second and just stared at me before he realized what was happening and sat up quickly, pulling me with him and into his arms. He hugged me tightly, and I started to tear up.
"Oh my god! Holy shit! You're actually here! Like you're actually- holy shit- oh my god. I don't even have words right now. You're gonna make me cry holy shit!" He exclaimed, making me laugh, tears still in my eyes.
"Yeah, I'm here." I whispered, making him tighten his grip on me. "Oh my god." He said quietly, his voice cracking. He sniffled and then pulled away, looking at me with teary eyes and a big smile. "Holy shit." He whispered again, making me laugh. "Holy shit." I repeated.
"Are you okay?" He asked and I shrugged. "Not really but-" just as I was about to explain to him, the door burst open, and standing there was Sam and Kat.
