Third Person
The sound of defibrillator machine echoed in the hospital room where Isla was confined. She ran towards the hospital bed to check the monitor. Isla's heart rate was decreasing rapidly.
"I-Isla. . ."
"Dean! Dean, call the doctor!"
"Call the doctor!"
The book that fell on the floor was Isla's novel. It was opened in chapter 40 of the book where half of the female lead's spiritual vein was opened, resulting to the awakening of the Legendary Divine Beast that resides within her.
"Isla? Oh my God, Isla!" Her hands are shaking as she tried her best to calm down.
"Miss! Step aside!" One of the nurses approached the hospital bed and Dean pulled Kashmir away from them.
"100 joules!" When the doctor pressed the defibrillator paddle on Isla's chest, her body jolted upwards.
"Inject Norepinephrine!" When the nurse had successfully injected it, the doctor glanced at the monitor. "150 joules, ready!" Her heart rate was still unstable.
"180 joules!"
Isla's been there through her ups and downs. Kashmir lost her mother when she was young, and her father refused to support her and decided to marry someone else.
"Isla, please. . ." Dean gently rubbed Kashmir's back to calm her down. He cannot afford to lose her, not when he was slowly getting interested to her.
"S-she's back, doc!" The female nurse blurted out, dahilan upang mapahawak sa dibdib si Kashmir dahil tila ba nabunutan siya ng tinik sa narinig.
Isla opened her eyes. She blinked her eyes when she noticed the green curtains on the window and the nurses beside her.
Am I finally back?
"Is her blood pressure normal?" Rinig niyang tanong ng doctor.
"Yes, doc."
The doctor took a penlight on his pocket to asses her condition. With her pulse rate and blood pressure normal, Isla concluded that she finally came back to life.
"How long is she unconscious?"
"About a week and a half."
A week and a half? Why is the time here so slow? It felt like it's been months when I was in my own novel! reklamo ni Isla sa kaniyang isipan.
