______________1 Year Later
Pishka POV
I'd walked down the stairs to the kitchen for breakfast - for a change in my routine, - once inside the kitchen, I walked to the cabinet to see that they were empty upon being opened. Next, I open the fridge only to see three pizzas from last night, I wasn't in the mood for pizza so I went searching for daddy and aunty. I found my daddy in the lounge, sitting on a one-man couch. Tapping away on his phone busy with social media, I tapped him on his shoulder.
Daddy: Hmmmm...
He didn't even bother to look up at me. I was curious to know who he was talking to, but when my tummy made a small growl I remembered why I was looking for him
Pishka: Daddy can we go shopping, there is no food in the house
Daddy: Uhhhh... But I have an unexpected meeting and the shop is just around the corner
He looks up from his phone, to look at me as if thinking
Daddy: Okay, I can drop you off that way I can show you where it is so that you can catch a cab or I could come and pick you up later on, cause I need to go
Pishka: Okay daddy but I am not walking back here, you are gonna have to come back to pick me up. I will also need some spending money, daddy
Daddy: Mmmmh, you love money too much, Kapish
He pulls out his wallet and gives me $ 400.
Pishka: It's because I like expensive things and I got them from you daddy.
I innocently smile while hugging him
Daddy: Me? I don't love money like you, but I think you gonna have to take a cab back. I will WhatsApp you the house's address
He takes out another $ 400 and hands it to me, he then takes out his phone and goes back on WhatsApp. I nearly growl out in frustration but a ring from my phone stops me. Pulling out my phone from my back pocket, I see the house address dad sent me
Pishka: Thanks daddy, I got it.
Daddy: Good, now let's go.
Pishka: Wait, what about aunty?
Daddy: She went to work earlier but she said she'll follow behind us later when she's done with her work. She will meet you at the mall if you are still there when she gets there. Let's go
He gets up with his phone and earphones in hand, grabs his keys from the bowl at the door, heading for the car. I just roll my eyes at the thought of aunty also having to go to work today
These people must really love their jobs, I must say that's one thing they sure have in common. No wonder they are together
Pishka: Okay.
We enter the car and drive off to the mall, I asked aunty over a WhatsApp message, while I was still in the car if she was coming and she said maybe. When we arrived at the mall, it was pretty and bigger than the one we had back home in South Africa, in Cape Town. It kind of made me feel homesick and a bit sad, I got out of the car after saying my goodbyes and kissing his cheek
