Third POV
___________
FlashbackCarlos's shoulder was pierces by an arrow however it didn't affect his movement so he hurried along with Rose. However, once he had travelled for a few hours and noticed that Rose had not made a peep since they left. He had thought she was scared but this was too long even for her, she should be shivering if that were the case. He came to a stop at clearing near a cave. As he patted her back and spoke soothing words into her ear, but for some reason he received no reply or any movement from the girl, then his vampire senses had zoned in on her breathing cause it had gotten too quiet, he remembers that wherever they went there was always a heart beat
He had been so distracted and out of it that he didn't notice the smell of blood or the fact that Rose's- Rose's heartbeat had stop. Carlos quickly made Rose's head to rest in his hand as he stared at her face with shock then it morphed into horror as realisation settled. Her eyes were closed, she had a peaceful smile on her face then what was said to be her last words registered into his mind
Rose: I love you, big brother... I want the three of us to be happy together always
Carlos' eyes brimmed red with tears of dread. Looking down at the little body, one would notice the red pool of blood around the chest area, above the heart. Rose's heart had been pierced by the arrow that was sent flying through Carlos earlier. With the limp lifeless body in his arms, the boy's body trembles as he embraced it tightly. He buries his head the child's chest; muffled sniffles are barely audible. Lifting his head, he looks around frantically as tears continue to stream down his face, his mouth wide open as he gasps for air desperately. Trying to control his crying by calming down however it only makes his tears pour out of his eyes
After some time he calms down a bit and wipes his eyes, shaking his head. On unsteady legs, Carlos walks with Rose's dead body in his arms. He walks east then suddenly turns west, pacing around senselessly, he shouts for help as the world around him begins to spin, change shapes and flip over causing knots to form in his stomach. The smell of blood flooded his senses and seemed to have caused him to get a nauseating feeling emerge from the pit of his stomach, which is strange for someone who lives off of blood. Emotions surfacing at a rapid pace, not giving his body time to adjust or express them separately. He froze, feeling dizzy and the world spun around him as his legs gave way and he fell to his knees. Along the lines he drops Rose's body, his hands covering his eyes but hten the smell of blood hit him again. His hands were covered in Rose's body, while stuck in a state of paralysis. He is unable to accept what had happened, he finally comes to as his body trembles. He collects himself and turns to Rose's body, hands on the ground and crawls towards her
Carlos: Rose- hey Rose, your just sleeping right? Come now, its not time to be sleeping... It's cold and dangerous out here to be that helpless. but I'll protect you okay? big brother will protect you...
He stopped and stares at her body, Rose was laid on the ground carelessly due to Carlos being in a panic, her head to the side as hair covered her face, an arm painfully under her body while another draped over her stomach. And don't get me started with her legs. He brushes her hair out of her face and opens his mouth as his fangs come out. he hisses before biting into her neck, he swallows a mouthful before pulling back. He smiles with dead eyes as he lifts her shoulders and hugs her into his chest, her limp head falling onto his shoulder then rolls to the side like a doll. Carlos's mind replays images from when his family had been slaughtered and killed mercilessly. Time passes but he remains still, then finally he pulls away from Rose's body, he cups her face and stares her closed eyed face
