Pishka's POV
Without a moment to spare, I spring into the distance but the silence behind me has me feeling uneasy. I look back to see Carlos standing still as if something's wrong and there is something wrong. The hooded figure raises its staff before blaming into the ground then a bright light floats out of it and enters the beast's body. It healed all the beast's wounds and returned it to its former form, the fur grew back while the open wounds closed even the smell decreased drastically. A pure white-furred hound with its dog mane and tail flowing in a shadow-like manner stood before them. The thing soon regains consciousness. However, the boy remains in place
I make a U-turn as I run back to Carlos, standing infront of the waking beast. It shakes its head, rising to its feet. Looking at the robed figure, it also spots Carlos. I can't see his face but anyone can tell from this scene that he's at a disadvantage. Standing at full height the creature snares at Carlos, my heart quickens as panic grabs hold of it. Not a second later my heart jumps as I see the hound lift its paw, Carlos' blades melt and falls to his knees
Just as I am about to reach my brother. Carlos turns his head, facing me. He shows me a smile, a defeated smile. My body feels like it's been frozen in time, though I'm still in motion, my mind buzzing as I stop in shock
'No!? You can't die again!? The massacre from back then, I won't let it happen again. I lose you too!'
I regain my senses when Rose's body presses against mine, her arms squeezing tightly around my neck. I look back up at Carlos, however, I'm met with a blast of electricity. It was aimed directly at me. I can't avoid it without getting Rose hurt so I turn my back to the explosion to shield Rose and tuck her arms to my chest and wrap my arms around her. It strikes me in the back, the pain feels unbearable but I grit my teeth as an inaudible scream is sounded from my tightly shut teeth
We are sent flying away from the trio, while flying I turn my body intending to land on my back. Unexpectedly we knock down three trees in the process of being in mid-air before landing on the ground. I make an impact with the ground and a crunchy thudding sound echoes. I gasp for air as I push myself up from the ground with a weight on my chest. Sitting up to put Rose down. Only seconds later a warm substance snakes up from within my throat, overflowing my throat, and unable to hold it in I spit out a mouthful of dark purple blood
I hug her to not stain her with my blood. Heaving in big breaths of air I wipe my mouth. A purple watery substance fills my vision as I look at my hand. I spit out blood, looking down I see a scared little girl. Seems like she's not immune to death like I thought after fear still exists for a reason right? I feel someone lifts me and take Rose from my arms. Then a voice speaks to me
Carlos: Pishka run! We need to get out of here now!
I get up with a bit of difficulty while running I peek back to see that the beast is lying dead with a twisted neck, and the hooded figure from earlier is struggling to get up. Suddenly the person's loud shouting echoes in the forest, then it sounds like she's talking in our ears
?Scepter holder?: HA HA AHA A HA AHA AHAH! DO YOU THINK YOU CAN GET AWAY FROM ME?! NEVER
Carlos pulls my arm as we run faster into the distance. I look at him and then ahead of us but the voice still echoes in my ears
?Scepter holder?: I curse you and your family! The youngest of you shall receive all the love in the world yet be unable to recuperate such feelings. While the oldest shall fall in love and be loved but their love will get all around them killed. And finally the last... You'll receive sweet dreams but when you wake up time would have welcomed you to a living nightmare, making you wish you never woke up ~. This is the curse called 'karma'!
