"You really are... nothing but a slave to those damn Sanos..."
The moment Baji uttered those words, tears welled up in your tired eyes, dripping down your cheeks. Your face reflected a look of pure pain and betrayal, hands shaking as you struggled to get a hold of yourself.
God, did those tears shatter Baji's heart...
The words he uttered to you were something he didn't actually believe in, not in a million years. But he knew he had to push you away, for your own sake.
It was for your own sake...
That was all Baji said to himself as he left the area, leaving your sobbing figure on the ground. He swore if he stayed there any longer then the tears that he was trying to hide would come spilling out like a broken dam, showing his true feelings.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
I'm so, so sorry.
That was all Baji repeated in his head like a mantra, begging for apologies that he couldn't ask for in real life. He knew that his words had hurt you and that itself was one of the worst feelings.
Just knowing that he was the cause of your pain, of your tears made his heart shrivel up.
With his mind brewing up a storm, he rushed off before you could see the tears in his eyes. He immediately walked over to where he had parked his bike, a good distance away from the Musashi Shrine.
Usually, he would have hated this long distance, whining and complaining to you and Chifuyu, but now... he didn't have anyone beside him.
"Need to get home..." He muttered to himself, and began to finally regain his senses. The first thing he noticed was the severely ominous presence that he felt.
It was so sharp and suffocating that he could feel his blood run cold.
At first, he thought that it might be an enemy, or maybe even another Toman member trying to get him back. But when he felt the bushes on his left rustle, he stood on guard.
Before he could comprehend what was happening, a figure jumped out of the bushes and punched him straight in the face. It ended up spilling some blood from Keisuke's nose, but that was the least of his concerns right now.
When he tried to get up, he found himself struggling under the overpowered assulter. God, whoever the hell was attacking him was a fucking monster...
By some chance, Keisuke found himself able to open his eyes. But he did so, his breathing hitched when he caught sight of a boy, about the same age as him or younger.
The boy had short, messy black hair and glistening chocolate brown eyes that held unshed tears that almost reminded him of shiny crystals. But that was not was caused Keisuke to freeze up.
It was his features...
He was a carbon copy of you, the same nose structure, the same facial structure, the same hair texture, and his eyes...
Those gentle eyes... burning with a fire so hot that it could scorch anything in its path.
"How could you?! How could you do that to her?!" The mysterious boy yelled at Keisuke, surprising him whilst simultaneously pinning him to the ground, "I can't believe you did that!! Didn't you say that Mom should never cry, then why did you break your own rule?!"
