"I think you're overreacting." His wife said as she unbuckled her seatbelt and got out of the car.
"And I think that all of this strange shit started once we began fostering that Precious kid. I just wanna make sure she's not the antichrist or something." He said as he got out and began walking towards the Library's entrance.
The two walked into the Library, making their way to the front desk.
"Where are your books on religious figures?" He asked."Its over by the cookbooks, next to the graphic novels. If you see manga, you've gone too far."
"Alright, whatever."He walked over to where the books were, scanning the shelves with his eyes for a moment. He had opted to just grab a book about religious figures, reading that for a moment before his wife tapped him on the shoulder.
"Hey...what was the last name of that kid again?"
"Akuma. Why?"
"Because...just read this." She said as she passed him the book she was reading.
He took it and he skimmed the page before finding the excerpt she was pointing out.
"The word 'demon' can be translated to Akuma / 悪魔 in Japanese. Akuma is closest to the Western concept of the devil or a demon and is the word used for 'Satan' in Japanese (although Satan / サタン is also used). Akuma is also the word used for the demonic king Mara in Buddhism."The two looked at each other for a second, then back to the book.
"This HAS to be some coincidence. Right? Sure, what happened to my eye was crazy, but that was just once. And we don't even have any evidence that was her." His wife said."look, lets just look a bit more into this "Akuma" fucker so we can at least get our bearings in order."
"Good idea."---------------------------------------------------------------------------
~Precious's POV~
"Are you sure we should have lit a fire? We aren't that far from the house.." Poka said, sitting down and setting her sight cane down next to her.
"Sure! This way, we feel like we're REALLY camping! Have you ever been camping?"
"No, I haven't. Mama and Papa said that i'd get lost and get eaten by a bear."
"IF we went camping together, I would protect you!"
"You would?"
"Of course!"
Precious leaned over and hugged Poka, who hugged her back, before sitting down next to her foster sister.
"Precious? what does fire look like?"
"It looks like heat. A deep red and orange, i guess."
"Oooh..It sounds pretty!"
"Its super pretty..it reminds me of home.."
"That's nice."
