"Huk, don't you want to see Martial?"
Del asks Hukbalahap, who had been hiding behind the tree the entire time. Hukbalahap shyly shakes her head and frowns. Del sighs, of course he understood why, but he was hoping that playing with each other could probably help the two bond with one another.
Dalisay watches from afar. Perla requested her that she watch over the children very closely from now on. Seeing how stressed and worried Perla looked at the time, she agreed to her younger sister's request and took the time to watch the children play.
So far, no accidents.
Yet.
Martial grabs onto Del's sleeves but says nothing. Instead, he stares at the ground with a monotone expression. The older brother couldn't help but stare at his younger brother in concern. The entire time, Martial had not said much.
"Mar... You should apologize to Hukbalahap first." Del suggests. Unfortunately, Martial shakes his head and hugs Del, burying his face into his side.
He sighs and pats Martial's head.
Magdiwang could almost see veins popping out on Katipunan's head as he watched the foreign country master walk towards them with a large smile.
"It's been a long time, hasn't it, Katipunan?" Ming Dynasty says as he stands Infront of the datu, his servants following close behind. Katipunan sighs.
"Why are you here, of all times..."
He mutters under his breath. Ming Dynasty chuckles as he leans forward face-to-face with Katipunan, causing the shorter man to flinch at the unexpected action, "H-Hey! What are you-"
"I see, as petite and short as always, Katipunan!"
The Dynasty laughs heartily. Katipunan laughs along with an awkward tone, trying his hardest not to punch Ming Dynasty square in the face. Maharlikan magic included, of course.
Ming Dynasty wipes tears of laughter away as he gathers himself, standing up straight and smiling again, "Of course, I mean no offense, dear friend."
Katipunan grits his teeth and forces out a smile, "Haha... Yes..."
Ming Dynasty leans over to one of his human servant's ears and whispers what seemed to be words of command as the servant flinched and bowed immediately. Soon after, the men that followed behind Ming Dynasty walked away to where the trading would take place.
The villagers and merchants began to indulge in gossip and other themes of conversation. Though, it was mostly gossip. Especially among the much younger ones.
"Hey! Hey!" A Chinese merchant called towards a Mactan fisherman with a grin and a hint of curiosity in his eyes.
The fisherman placed his basket of freshly caught smelt fish¹ and smiled at the merchant, "Yes? Is there anything you need?"
The merchant leaned closer and whispered, "Is it really true that Maharlikans hibernate? Like bears, but during storms?" He asks with anticipation in his voice.
"Mhm, that's true. In fact, we're all preparing for hibernation right now." The fisherman replies. The merchant's eyes widen in much more curiosity and even surprise.
"Woah, so they really hibernate?" Another merchant from afar asks, accidentally listening in on the conversation between the two men, yet couldn't help make him curious.
His friend nodded, sighing at his eavesdropping friend, "I mean, that fisherman over there just said... But it's rather weird, isn't it?"
"I agree. I haven't really heard of any other race that actually hibernate."
