We stand in a circle in the Choosing room. Cierra stands next to me. Four walks to the stand. "As you all know, today, each sixteen year old will choose their place. Are you kind? Selfless? Honest? Brave? Smart? It's up to you. Good luck." The next five minutes fly by. "Jason Mellark." I walk to the bowls and cut my palm. "Dauntless." "Cierra Mellark. Dauntless." Amanda chooses dauntless, so do me and cierra. The others left for another faction. We storm out of the building after the last one has chosen. We run down the steps and to the train. I see it and yell "jump!" We all jump on and ride to the compound.
Cierra POV
We near the building, so I get ready to jump. Before I jump, I say, "This train stops for no one!" and jump. All but 2 made it off the train. Katniss stands at the edge. "If you want to become Dauntless, this is the way in. If you don't jump, you're out. So who's first?" "Me." I walk up. I don't think, I just jump. I get to the net at the bottom, and dad is waiting. I climb out. "First Jumper, Cierra!" After the other initiates jump, Peeta talks to us. "There are twelve of you this year. 6 dauntless borns and 6 transfers. Myself and Katniss are training transfers. Four and Tris are training Dauntless borns. Two,of you will be cut at the end. Good luck!" We all sleep together in one room. I go to the store and buy more clothes. I am the complete opposite of my mother. She only wears pants and t shirts with her jacket. I spend 275 of my 500 dauntless credits. I bought black heels, a black dress with a maroon neckline, some black jewelry with gold studs and dress for my initiation ceremony. The dress for the initiation ceremony is black.(picture⬆️) initiation starts after lunch. I grab a sandwich and go to training.
"Today, you will learn to fight. You will fight after supper and tomorrow. Then you will go through your fear landscapes. Since today is Monday, the ceremony will be Friday. You will have a day off to think about the job you want. Go to a punching bag and practice until supper." We practice for three and a half hours.
After Supper
I go to the board to see who I will fight.
1: Jason and Kylee
2: McKenzie and Alex
3: Cierra and Sammi
4: Josie and Liz
5: Mar and Luke
6: Josh and TT
First fight, Jason wins easily. McKenzie beats Alex, I beat Sammi, but she almost knocked me out, Josie beat Liz, Mar beat Luke in like 30 seconds, and TT beat Josh unconscious.
Tomorrow
I fight against Liz. She's gonna lose. She can't fight worth a dam.
