Harry's POV

It's Friday evening and I'm tired, cold and I just want to get home. I've been away on business all week. I miss my bed and I'm sure I can hear my soft cool pillow calling me.

I work for a beverages company and my job is to visit businesses with a hope that they will use our products.

I've been working in the Yorkshire area and although I do love the beautiful county, I miss the hustle and bustle of the city.

"I'm not stopping anywhere else" my manager is pecking my head wanting me to stay over an extra night so I can visit a big restaurant franchise in the morning. "I'm heading back, I need to get home before the weekend."
My manager finally agrees and i turn the radio up and settle myself in for the long journey south. That's until fate had other plans.

"What the hell is that?" The noise was load, a knocking noise which seemed to be coming from beneath the car. I pull up and although I'm no mechanic I get out to try and look for what it could be. Kicking the tyres and looking under the bonnet with no clue.
"Shit" I muttered to myself. What was I supposed to do now?

"Change of plan Luke, the vans making a really load banging noise. I'm going to  call someone out. I'll never make it down to London with it like this" My manager agreed that this would be for the best and to keep him updated.

I looked around to see if there was anywhere I could take refuge whilst I was waiting for the recovery to turn up. They said it would be around ninety minutes and they would call me as they arrived.

Locking the van I turned to walk towards the high street. It was late November so the air was cold and damp. It had rained almost all day.  Hands in pockets and coat fastened I walked for a good ten minutes before I could see the brightly lit shops and bars.

As I walked along looking for somewhere to warm up I came across a sign "Yorkshire's Finest" the exterior was dark wood and the sign was written in a scroll font and had a red tea pot. I made my way in, the bell above the door announcing my arrival.

"Hi, could I get a tea and one of those scones please?" I asked as the lady greeted me from behind the counter. "certainly sir" she smiled, "take a seat and I'll bring it over for you"

The small tea shop was cozy and warm. It had a pleasant feel to it.

"Would you like cream and jam with that sir" she called over to me. "That would be lovely" I replied with a smile matching hers.

"Louis, can you bring out some jars of jam please?" She called into the back.

Louis POV

I had been in the office for the last hour trying to go through some invoices from our last orders. We were short of some items and they had charged for them. It was almost five o'clock and I was getting tired, looking forward to a relaxing bath when I got home.

"Yes, Anne, I'll bring them out now" I replied as Anne had asked for some pots of jam to be brought out of the back. I had a good relationship with all my staff, we were like a family.

I walked into the stock room to get the pots before returning to the front of the shop. "Here you are lovely. Is five enough?" As I placed the jam on the counter I looked around the shop. There were three tables in, November was a quiet month but we always made up for it with the run up to Christmas.

" You get off early if you like" Anne was my longest serving members of staff, she had started at the shop not long after I bought the place. She was like my second mum. "Are you sure Louis, I don't mind staying till close" "It's fine, go and spend some time with Frank, I'm sure he'll be pleased to see you home early." She gave me a kiss on the cheek and put her coat on. "see you in the morning" she waved as she closed the door.

Taking a cloth, and wiping the counter a man approached. "Hi, sorry to interrupt but could I have my pot of jam?"

"Oops" I say as I take the pot and hand it over. "I'm so sorry about that sir" "it's fine" the gentleman replied, making his way back to his table. I watched him for a moment taking his seat and gently cutting his scone. I had never seen anyone so handsome. He was tall, curly long hair, that he had brushed back and he had the most amazing green eyes.
I'd not seen him in here before, but I knew already I needed to see more of him.

I decided to cleaning some tables so I could maybe strike up a conversation. It seemed like a good plan.

"So I've not seen you in here before, are you local?" I hope that didn't sound weird and desperate. "No I'm from Cheshire but I live down London now. I'm up here on business, but my van decided to have a wobble and I'm now waiting for recovery to come out"
"Oh no! That's terrible"come home with me. No Louis, don't say anything stupid.

"So is your van outside" I continued, trying to sound confident and not flustered, though I definitely was.
"It's a ten minute walk, not far" he replied. He looked tired. "Well we are open until 8pm, you're more than welcome to hang out here until they arrive." "Thank you" he replied taking a sip of tea. "I don't fancy standing around in the cold."

I continued to wipe the rest of the empty tables when the bell rang. "Give me a shout if you need anything" I said to the curly haired man, before going to the counter to serve the new customers.
