Harry's POV

Saying goodbye was difficult, I could see Lou stood outside the shop, watching his refection in the mirror as we drove away. My mind screaming for me to get Matthew to stop the van so I could run back into his arms. I knew I couldn't, I had a job, a home, a life back in London, I just couldn't not go back to.

The radio played quietly, as we made our journey back. "So how was your weekend? Shame about the van. I bet you can't wait to get back home" Matthew said cheerily. I wasn't in the mood for small talk. "Yes it was okay, I met a few people and ended up going out on Saturday night" turning my head towards the window, my head now resting on the cold glass hoping that I could just sit in silence, left to my thoughts.

We had been traveling around an hour, before we decided to stop at a service station. Matthew needed to get food. I wasn't hungry but I took the opportunity to stretch my legs and grab a coffee. "You seem a little down today, are you sure you're okay" Matthew asked as we got back into the van. "I'm just tired, it's been a long weekend" I replied fastening my seat belt.
" Well I'd get rested when you get back, works been pretty busy. Luke was on about some leads he needs following up." I'd usually be happy with the extra work but to be honest I just wanted to get home and feel sorry for myself. "I'm sure he'll tell me all about it tomorrow" I smiled, trying to sound interested.

I slept the rest of the way home. Only waking to my shoulder being shaken by Matthew telling me we had arrived.
"Thanks for the lift home mate, I really appreciate it." We said out goodbyes as I entered my apartment complex.

"Home sweet home" I mumbled as I made my way up to my apartment. It was around 5pm now, Lou would still be working.

Harry- hey, back home now. Hope your day is going good. Gonna grab a shower and make some food before an early night I think. Hope to hear from you soon. Xxx

I felt a little nervous texting him, it was like the unknown. I hoped he would message back, I knew there was a chance he wouldn't. I guess I could only wait and see.

Louis POV

Todays going pretty slowly, Anne keeps asking how I am, I caught her looking at me with sad eyes before. This isn't me, in a happy go lucky kinda guy. I love my little tea shop, everything was just going great before the curly haired man turned up. Now I just feel lost.

Two teas coming up, I said with a smile as the couple sat by the window. The table that Harry had been sat at Saturday morning. I had to just get on with things. I can't fall in a hole because of some guy. I was frustrated with myself for allowing myself to fall for him so deeply, so soon.

"Anne, you get yourself finished up. You've been here since opening up this morning." She was meant to have left an hour ago but found some excuse to stay. "no, I'll stay until closing with you, I don't have much planned this evening" I looked over at her as she cleaned one of the coffee machines. "I can get on with some cleaning" I knew why she wasn't leaving, she really was the most selfless lady I'd ever met. "I'll be okay you know" trying to reason with her. "I know you will Louis" she said continuing to pull out the filter. I was never going to win this one.

Closing time came around, Anne clearing the counter whilst I took the till into the back, placing it in the safe. "Come on lovely, let's get home" she said as we pulled down the shutter. "Thank you for staying." "Any time Louis, I'm just at the end of the phone if you need anything" giving me a hug and a warm smile. "Good night my love, see you tomorrow" she said as she turned to make her was home.

Pulling into the drive, I sat looking at the empty house. How I wish I had someone waiting for me, a warm smile to greet me as I walked through the door. How I wish that person was Harry.  I made my way through the house to the kitchen throwing my keys on the work top. I wasn't hungry, I knew I needed to eat but I just couldn't face cooking anything. I pulled a bowl out and filled it with coco pops. Yes I was now an adult, but they're my favourite and I don't care.

I pulled out my phone, I'd not checked it for a few hours. I was trying to not keep checking for a message from Harry, I had silenced it and kept it in my coat pocket.

Unlocking my phone I noticed that Harry had messaged me at around 5pm advising that he had got home safely and would be having an early night. I should wait until the morning as not to wake him but one little text should be okay.

Louis- hi Haz, glad you got home safe. Just arrived back from work and will probably have an early night too. Hope to speak with you tomorrow. Sweet dream xxx

At least he messaged me, that's my first worry put at ease.

Finishing my cereal and tea I went upstairs and climbed into bed. I was shattered from the little sleep I got the previous night and the stress of the day. Curling up under my thick duvet I closed my eyes thinking of the curly haired man, so far away.
