Writer's POV
Present...

Later that day, Killian returned home. A plastic bag with the name Brooke Market printed on the front was in his hand. Emma saw him and smiled. She had been bored all day long, reading dull books and roaming around the empty house, now he was finally back. He stepped towards her and smiled, "Hey."

"Hey, what's that?" She glanced to the bag curiously.

"I'm gonna tell you something, but please don't freak out," he begged.

Emma held his blue gaze, she could tell this something was a really big deal.

She crossed her arms, "what's in the bag, Killian?" She asked more firmly.

He sighed, "A-A pregnancy test."

Her eyes widened, stepping back from him, "A what!?"

"Just, just calm down. Sit down, I'll explain." He tried soothing her.

"Why the hell do you have a pregnancy test?" She shouted.

"Because you threw up this morning, and you never eat cereal."

"You think I'm pregnant? That's ridiculous." She snapped at him.

"We've been trying to have a baby, we thought we were ready." He motioned her to sit on the couch.

Emma sat down slowly and ran her hands through her hair, she was already dealing with so much, and now this was just crossing the line. "So, you're telling me, that a man I don't recognize, got me pregnant?"

"Well, technically we don't know yet..." He sat beside her.

She stared into blank space, the thoughts rushing through her head were out of a movie. This couldn't be possible. "When was the last time we, we um, you know?" She cleared her throat.

"Like a week before the crash," he answered looking at her. "Look just take the test, if you aren't then everything will work out."

"And if I am?" She looked at him in question.

"Then, we'll figure out a way. We always do." A small smile appeared on his lips.

He reached out and grabbed her hand, giving it a light squeeze for reassurance, "Em, you're not alone."

She looked at their hands and nodded, "Okay, I'll... take the test." She muttered.

He pulled the rectangle purple box from the bag and handed it to her. She grabbed it with shaky hands and made her way hastily to the bathroom.

Killian knew this was a lot for her to take in, but he couldn't help but feel a little joy at the thought of the woman he loved baring his child. They had wanted this for so long, and about a month back they decided the time was right. After the crash, he knew their plans were destroyed. But maybe now they had a chance...

He sat anxiously on the couch waiting for her to come out, she finally did a few minutes later. The small plastic device in her hand as she made her way over to him. He stood, "so?"

She nodded, "I-It's positive."

He looked at her and his heart felt like it had broken into a million pieces. She was pregnant. She was carrying the child of a man she didn't know, of a man she doesn't have any memory for, and a man she didn't love. She couldn't take it. She reached her breaking point.

Tears started streaming down her cheeks, and soft sobs escaped her mouth as her bottom lip quivered, she dropped the test on the floor. Killian tried reaching out to her, "Love-"

She put her hand on his chest and pushed him back, "Don't. J-Just leave me alone, I-I can't do this." She whispered the last part and turned her back, walking away from him and heading to her room while she wiped away the tears that kept coming.
