Aemond Targaryen

I had woken up extremely early this morning. Aemond promised that he would take me out to the training yards if I got up early enough. I wasn't really supposed to be out there, for whatever reason, but if we got there before anyone else there was a small window of time where I could train along with him. I changed out of my nightgown, putting on the undergarments for my armor. Most of the time I just borrowed Aegon's old armor from when he was shorter.

I made my way out to the training yards, spotting Aemond almost immediately. He was already dressed in his own light armor and wielding a smaller practice sword. I grinned at him as he turned and took notice of me, giving me a quick wave. I returned the gesture as I strolled up to him, grabbing the pieces of armor that waited for me.

"Have you prepared yourself to lose to a lady, my prince?" I asked in a cocky tone, my gaze flashing over to him for a second.

Aemond's nose scrunched slightly as he rolled his eyes, turning away from me and flipping his sword lazily in his hand. Aemond had gained a number of confidence after claiming Vhagar for himself, which I was happy to see. Though there was a part of me that was scared of the idea of him wielding the gigantic war dragon, I had still congratulated him after the victory. There was trouble brewing in the kingdoms, and a creature like that would come of use.

After I finished putting on the rest of my armor I turned towards the boy, walking over to the weapons rack. He didn't hold a shield with him, but that changed once he caught a glimpse of the weapon I picked up. One of the main things I had noticed during my time at the castle was that everyone underestimated women. I had been watching Ser Cole, Aemond, and Aegon train for years and years, and I often snuck away at night to practice on my own. Though I was certainly no great fighter, as I was still quite young, I knew my way around several different weapons.

I reached for the morning star mace that sat idly on the weapons rack. This was the weapon that was normally used by Ser Cole himself. I had watched the knight use it thousands of times, and I could appreciate how beautiful it was in a battle. I held it tight in my hand, grabbing a spare shield as well. I slowly turned back around to face Aemond, the slightly startled expression on his face only fueling my confidence. I loosened my grip on the morning star, grinning lightly as the chain dropped and let the large, spiked ball at the end hang down.

"I won't hit you anywhere important, Prince Aemond."

"I will not make the same promise."

That was one of the things I appreciated most about Aemond. He did not view me as some delicate flower. He treated me like any other person. Though I knew it was just friendly banter, I truly hoped he meant it. I did not want him going easy on me.

The two of us stood in front of each other, both holding onto a shield and our chosen weapon. Aemond was the first to make a move. He moved towards me quickly, raising his sword into the air and brining it down towards me with astonishing speed. I quickly moved my shield above my head, blocking the swing with ease. As soon as his sword made contact with my shied, I moved my morning star. My arm reached back behind me as I began to swing, lowering my body and sending the shot towards the boy's legs. Aemond quickly took a step back away from the mace, moving his sword again to come down on my exposed arm.

Though Aemond was surprisingly quick on his feet, I was naturally more agile and flexible than him. My eyes watched as his sword began to come down on my arm, quickly angling my body away from him and using my mace to knock his sword away from me. The loud sound of metal hitting metal echoed around us, though neither of us thought about the fact that that was most likely heard all throughout the castle.

Aemond's good eye shot towards me, watching each and every move I made with a delicate precision. I raised my morning star yet again, moving to bring it down on Aemond's shoulder. He turned to block it with his sword yet again, but this time the strength of the mace knocked the blade right out of the prince's hand. It flew across the yard, hitting the stone with another loud sound. A grin began to form on my face as the boy was disarmed, though it disappeared slightly when he did not yield. He held his shield up in front of him, swinging it towards me with his right arm.

I began to step out of the way of the shield, opening my mouth to remind him to yield. My words were cut off, though, as Aemond's foot suddenly caught under my own. My tripped over it, my back hitting the ground with a light grunt. As I hit the ground Aemond must have returned to pick up his sword, as when I opened my eyes I was greeted by the point of a blade aimed at my face. The sound of our fight must have been echoing through the castle as it soon drew out Ser Cole, who stood at the exit. Neither of us noticed the man, which prompted a small grin to form on his face. He had been watching for at least half of the fight, nodding along with each strike and block.

My eyes widened at the blade before wandering up to Aemond's face, which wore a snake like grin. I let out a soft huff before mumbling a quick, "I yield," to him. Aemond then tossed the sword to the side, holding his hand down towards me. I took it willingly, letting out a soft giggle as he easily pulled me up off of the ground. Even once I had regained my balance, the prince held lightly onto my hand. The devilish grin that was on his face before had shifted to a more genuine, childlike smile.

"It seems the morning has treated the two of you well," Ser Cole suddenly spoke up, startling the both of us. We simultaneously let go of each other's hands, turning towards the man with worried expressions. He slowly made his way down the stairs towards us, his gaze shifting from me to Aemond.

"Pick back up your sword, my prince. It's time to train."
