5. Old Acquaintance

Smith:
"Uncle Xavier?" A quite inaudible whisper left my mouth as the door of the room opened revealing the man I used to love and look up to, but not anymore!

I almost instantly composed myself, and after regaining the composure said to the man, "Sir, who are you? And how did you get in?" I acted the oblivious.

That man wasn't paying attention! He straight walked heavy but steady steps towards Mr. Williams,
"Son!" I couldn't help my eyes widening at the angry voice! Son!? Mr. Williams is his son!! What the-!

"Umm dad, is there a reason you came 'here'? And for your umm not so pleasant mood?" Mr. Williams was also taken by surprise with his father's sudden arrival, and asked hesitantly.

"Yes! Reason you ask! You have not been home for past whole month!! And you agreed for sharing today's breakfast with us! I and your mother have been calling you since 2 hours! When I went to office I was informed that you are here for a meeting!!" That man burned with anger and disappointment.

I watched Mr. Williams, he was afraid from his father's outburst least to say and he looked guilty.
"Um ahem dad, really sorry for that. I forgot about the breakfast part, due to the current project and board meeting. I am really sorry!" He apologized.

At this point of time, I was watching them with my infinitesimally narrowed eyes folding my arms.
Mr. Williams looked my way and realization hit him!
"Huh dad let's go and we will have this conversation in the car. Ms. Smith must have other tasks to attend to." He said, and I sighed internally. Finally!

"Smith!?" A quite but surprised whisper left his father. He instantly turned around and saw me. I stood there confident.
"Mr. Williams" I gave a curt nod as a greeting.
His eyes had a shine to them, as he saw me. His lips moved, but before he could say something,
"I have to be somewhere so if I may?" I asked rudely and shamelessly.

"Yeah sure, we also have to be somewhere important." Young Williams was first to respond. I quickly came out of the room and went towards parking lot after instructing the watch guards to lock, after the Williams are out.

After sitting in my car, a sigh left me. I don't want to face him. He..he broke our trust! Hell, everyone has! No one should be trusted in this deceiving world. Keeping that in mind I went for a long drive to calm myself down.

Williams:
I was drowning in guilt. I promised my parents that this sunday I will have breakfast with them and planned to spend some time with them. But I forgot!! And dad is angry for the right reason. I should not have indulge myself too much in work.

We were just walking out of the building, me in my own thoughts and for some reason dad also doesn't seem angry anymore. He was in his own trance.

"Dad? Something wrong?" I asked worried. He came out of his trance and looked at me. And..here it is again! The anger. I am still afraid of my father being angry. Childhood instincts I guess.

"Other than you being a workaholic? No." Ouch.
"Dad!" I said in a complaining tone.

"What? You know how much your mother wished to see you!? She prepared your favorites by herself!" He is making me feel more and more guilty. But I am feeling something strange here. Usually no matter what blunder I do, dad never becomes too angry!

Then I narrowed my eyes at him.
"You messed up." I said, giving him a scrutinizing look.
"Huh? What are you talking about?" He said defensively, fixing his tie.

We got inside the car, and I started the conversation again.
"Dad, I know mom is upset with you. Tell me what you did?" I said knowingly.
"I can't understand what you are saying." He said looking out of the window. No use dad, the deer is caught already. I chuckled in my mind.

"Alright then, I'll ask mom myself." I said trying to hide the devious smirk.
He stiffened and glared at me. I grinned internally. Caught the nerve I guess.

"Don't you dare!" He said sharply.
"Okay, I won't. Just tell me what you did then." I said, trying to hold my laugh on seeing dad's expressions.
He sighed, "Fine! So your mother and I had an argument about settling you in, as you have already settled in business." I stilled, and accidentally pressed breaks bringing car to an abrupt halt!

"What did you just say?" I asked unsure.
"I said, do you want us to get killed!" He yelled, quite shocked from the sudden halt!
"Dad, are you serious?" I asked, rephrasing the question.
He just gave me a look clearly saying, if it wasn't serious, dad and mom wouldn't have an argument.

I cleared my throat, "Who came up with the idea?"
I was replied with silence!
"Dad, were you the one!?" I asked surprised and disappointed.
"What no! Why would you even think that!!"

"Then...mom?" I asked hesitantly.

"Well kind of yes. We were just talking about Mr. And Mrs. Brown 25th wedding anniversary and it occurs to your mom that next year we would be celebrating ours. So she wants to see you get settled before that."

"What were your opinions?"
"I said it's too early! You are still immature to take such a huge step." Dad exclaimed. Though he could have said that I am not 'ready' for this instead of immature!

I turned on the ignition of the car and we were again on the road.
I sighed, "I guess it's no big deal dad. Mom will get over it soon."
He chuckled, "You don't know your mom well." This..statement made me unsure, but I decided to leave this for quite a time.

Smith:
Various thoughts were running in my mind when my other phone buzzed. I looked at the caller id and instantly picked up!

"Parker is located." The message was precise and direct, just how I prefer it.
"Send me the location." I ordered and cut the call. I sighed, finally this Parker is found! Now, I can get a lead!

Soon, the location was sent, hmm would not be difficult to catch.
I took my original phone and called, the call was picked in a ring, "I am sending you the location, be there in 10 minutes." My tone was hard and the other side knew what it meant!

I cut the call and turned the car sharply, driving towards the required destination.

After nearly 20 minutes, I reached there. Taking my gun out of the dashboard, checking it, I kept it hidden under my suit jacket.

As soon as I stepped out of the car, "Parker is in casino, since 30 minutes. Casino has three exits, the main, at back for the staff and...one hidden for the premium classes for even more premium situations." Jack, the man for such jobs, secretly under my employ, informed me. I nodded.

"Do we know the exact location of that exit?" I asked.
"I have estimated the location but the exact one? No." He responded.

"Alright, then we are left with only one option. Let's directly face this Parker."
