The towering building stood pridefully with the setting sun highlighting its features. It was late in the afternoon, and most students were already finished with class. Lloyd was on Janitor duty, yet again, for pulling another "childish accident" in the cafeteria earlier that day.
Pranks he pulled at Darkley's never seemed to go his way, or prove his worth to other students in the academy. More often than not they either got him in trouble for property damage, or messed with his grades. So as punishment he was assigned the monstrous task of washing all 170 windows of the school.
"Ugh! Why do I have to put up with my stupid principal?" He thrusted more soap onto the window glass, scrubbing it roughly. "My dad is Lord Garmadon! The Dark Lord for crying out loud! Can't I get at least a little respect? Or even a break?!"
The boy groaned as he continued his chore. When we wiped all of the soap off completely from the window, he spotted a figure outside the school. It was dark, and kinda short. And it seemed to have a....tail?
He dropped his rag in the bucket and rushed to the exit doors. Once he made it outside, he was able to make out the creature as some sort of black-colored cheetah. His jaw dropped at the sight of the mutant. He had studied about them before in class, but never did he think he'd actually witness one in person.
"Hey! Hey you there!" the cheetah turned to the sound of his voice. Lloyd noticed the blindfold on her eyes, and the red robe she wore. He ran over to her with a smile. "Hi, are you lost or something?"
The cheetah shook her head.
"Where are you headed?"
"I'm looking for the nearest university in Ninjago." she said.
"Well, look no further! You're at Darkley's."
"Darkley's?"
"Yeah! They train us here to either be villians, heroes, or whatever you wanna be really. If you pass the final exams here you get admissioned to the highest ranking universities in Ninjago!"
The cheetah smiled. "You attend this academy?"
"Yep!" Lloyd placed his hands on his hips pridefully. "Most parents send their kids here cause they're misbehaved but this place teaches you everything. From the history of Ninjago to the farthest reaches of science."
The offer seemed enticing. Nyx had been traveling for a few days on her own. Where else was there for her to turn to? The nearest village could be miles upon miles away. She nodded at the boy, making her decision.
"Can you help me enroll into Darkley's?"
"Of course! C'mon!" Lloyd took her by the hand, leading her to the front gates. Excitement bubbled inside of him as he talked with his newfound friend. "So you're really a mutant! I mean, I've read about your species in class, but, wow! You look super cool! Are you really blind? Sorry that was rude. Hold up! Lemme start over.....I'm Lloyd. What's your name?"
She giggled at his contagious joy. "My name is Nyx."
The snow whipped wildy as the cold air bit at both of the mutants. Pythor kept a harsh grip on Nyx, allowing her to lead him to the next tomb. Her ears bent down in irritation as her captor used her as some compass. It was infuriating. But as much as she wanted to rip this serpent one scale at a time, she couldn't. He was much stronger physically, and combated her blindness with his invisibility. Making it near impossible to fight against. Nyx could easily cut him to shreds with her glass, but she was not a killer at heart.
